I tried to use the (old) scroll but it said services was unavilable. I even waited a few days thinking it was just a temporary error. I'm now on hold with Blizzard to ask them to credit back the cost of Cata and if they're feeling generious, boost my DK team to level 80 and get the free epic flying mount.

Server transfer success!

It pays to call Blizzard and talk to them, they're pretty cool. Initially they told me no, they wouldn't transfer my tunes (Because I had re-activated my account after a 2 year absence a week before the new scroll went live) but I talked to a supervisor and she hooked me up with refunding my 5 Cata purchases, then free upgrade back to Cata and free server transfer faction change to Mag! :)

Hey guys I was in the zerg and despite my playing every day my toons keep getting kicked. I moved all my boxing toons to N E R D S until I can find someone online to re inv us. I had 4 teams in the zerg and one in the protoss but all of the toons i had in the zerg got booted.

I had the best time i have had in years last night. At first I was a tad bummed, i have not played my shaman team much this expansion, I PvPed a lot during wotlk and just forgot that i had next to zero PvP gear on them. So I was a tad worried i would suck hard in the cross server AV group. But I was always in the top 10 or so HKs ( i mean its kind of hard not to be with chain lighting spam right? ) Basically I got carried, but had a blast, winning non stop AVs while playing as Horde was GREAT! I think i got about 3-4 pieces of gear on each toon. I cant wait for April and AV and IoC weekends 8)

With more boxers coming, I am looking forward to some all boxers BGs, have never done that, just having 2-3 5 boxers in an AV was crazy fun!

Moving the entire guild, which contains hundreds of multi-boxed toons would cost a small fortune. If it was free, it might be a consideration. Until that day, I doubt we'll ever move.


According to wowprogress.com (http://www.wowprogress.com/realms/rank/us) Magtheridon is rank 28 in the US in terms of progress and population. We sport a population of around 11k people with an equal number of Horde and Alliance. We are definitely a medium population server.

In terms of economy, I find it to be strong. I've easily made 100K in the last month with little effort. This was done by selling gems and essences.
Now, if you are a auction house power seller, then it could be a problem for you.

If you are truly concerned, your best bet is to compare the auction house between your current realm and Magtheridon using TheUndermineJournal.com (https://theunderminejournal.com/user.php).

That will give you a really good idea on the volume of trades.

However, there are several advantages to a medium population server

A actual community of players that know each other
No login-queues
No lag
Not too much competition for resources (farm in peace)

The only advantage a large population server has is economy. I can't think of anything else.

I think monks have a lot of potential! melee..heal..tank specs. No auto attack but it will be fun to see how they do.

As someone that transfered to Magtheridon and joined The Zerg a couple of days ago, I'll share my thoughts.

If you're currently playing as alliance as I was, leaving your friends behind sucks. There's no denying that. If you're already horde then it's not a big deal because you can do everything (except normal raid versions of DS) via Real ID.

Coming from a high population server, the AH is difficult. For example a bracer enchant (Mighty Intellect) sells for 650g on my old server but 2000k on Magtheridon. Gems have a similar markup. However this can be an advantage if you're making money via your professions.

For PvE content queue times are longer and more difficult to find a normal/hard DS group.

But if you're thinking about transfering to Mag, it's probably for the PvP! Running Rath Start with 2 other boxers was an unbelievable amount of fun! We're well known to the Rath strat group and prized. Everybody loves playing with multiboxers in AV!

Additionally, everyone I've met in The Zerg is friendly, talkative and all around good people. It's nice to play with like minded people.

If PvP is your primary motivation then it's worth it to move. If you like PvE more then not so much.

If you need anything enchant wise, let me know and I can hook you up. I have plenty of materials and all professions leveled including most recipes.

The AH is great for making gold without much effort, but can be costly if you don't have the mats or access to the professions.

All my old toons were deleted when I quit... except one toon per server. (someone talked me into leaving one)

My goal is to end up on same server as Zerg, all cata accounts, and (5) level 80s, all new toons, not pay for server transfers.

The person sending you scrolls gets the spectral mount. Your toons that accept the scroll do get mounts.. just not spectral. You get a 280% mount, 20 slot bags and wrath greens.

You can chain the scrolls to yourself.. and yes even on the same bnet account. you open one account.. send an invite from in game to your bnet email, you log into bnet and accept that invite on your 2nd account. once you make a toon on your 2nd account you can then send one for that account to your bnet and accept it on your 3rd and so on.

Once you send an invite and accept it on an account.. that account can log in.. make a toon.. you can then choose to claim your reward on that toon ( lvl 80 ) log it back in and invite from it.. all without paying anything. You can only send 2 invites a day per wow account, one from in game and one from bnet account site. ( not per bnet ) So by chaining them.. you could get them all in the same day. Also, all your accounts that invited will be able to claim the mounts once your invitees pay 30days.

Blizz did eventually give me the cata upgrade and 80s. However they are not going to give me the glittery wyvern mount but for 2 accounts. They agreed that they effed up one, and that I misclicked and effed up one.. of the five.

w/e im glad its done.


That being said. I love the comradery in the guild. It was very nice to have an air escort just minutes after being harassed. Thanks again for the guild invite. Im gonna have to get to 85 quick so I can do pvp stuff and return the favors.

According to the FAQ, standard limitations for Faction change and Transfer apply. So if the character is the guild leader, I dont think you can xfer it, until it leaves the guild, or hands the guild over to another player.

you can make a new set... or move an existing toon.

What that statement says is you can only apply the perk to one toon. Example of what you can NOT do.. is apply the boost to level 80 to Toon A and move Toon B to another server.

You CAN either move existing Toon A to a new server... AND apply a leveling boost up to level 80, or you can create a new Toon C on the new server, and boost it to 80.

You don't have to go through the quest chain to get out of their starting area.
And while you do get the green items, in the place of the cool looking DK items...
Those starting area DK items are in your mailbox.

So they're available, should you want to transmog your stuff to look like the starter DK set.

I'm a bit sick of sargeras as the entire server makes up nearly all of our battlegroup and not a single 2300+ shaman will queue if i'm online for 3's and a few teams dodge when I queue 5's as well or use to (current rank 1 team for example).

The guild is very active. We have people on all day long (depending on tz, we have person...)

Mostly we pvp, sometimes we LFR, we chill on vent. A couple ten-boxers, many fivers. You would not be alone.

And I've been on a lot, doing RathStrat runs.

We would be pleased to have you. People are on all day and night. At night, around 8PM - 2AM MST it is very active with 5-10 boxers on.
There are a ton of 5-boxers, with a couple 5+ boxers and several 10-boxers.

As for PvP, we do a lot of World PvP and Random Battlegrounds. Lately, we've been doing a multiboxed Rath Strat AV, where we farm the Alliance in the graveyard the entire game.
The game typically ends with 400+ honorable kills and 600+ honor. Our win ratio is 99%.

We also do a lot of Isle of Conquest, where we try to camp the graveyard at each node they take then ultimately turtle on the boss if they manage to break the gates.

We would be pleased to have you. People are on all day and night. At night, around 8PM - 2AM MST it is very active with 5-10 boxers on.
There are a ton of 5-boxers, with a couple 5+ boxers and several 10-boxers.

Okay... I am done trying SWTOR and Diablo III. The one time I let my kids play on my computer I come back and my hard drive is totally owned by viruses requiring a total rebuild of the system... kids... anyhow, downloading wow again and lets see if I can get everything working again. I transferred, (moved 5 of my 37 alchemists) my top team from the last expansion.
Played a few months before the summer seasonal work.

Playing with other boxers absolutely rocks.
<The Zerg> is a great group of guys.
I recommend transferring, if you're considering.

I'm actually in the process of leveling a bunch of toons.
Will be doing RAF in three phases (since party limit is five, and therefore boosting limit is four).
I'll be ten-boxing at some point.
So want to boost AB/FG, CD/HI and E/J...

Being with other boxers, is great.



I believe you can transfer 20K gold per toon.
100K is a very decent amount to "start" with.
I don't think one team would need that much, but depends I suppose.

If it doesn't work out, you can transfer back.

The economy is decent.
There isn't always 5x of every glyph on the AH (especially the new ones, that came out with the expansion).
But over a couple of days, can buy almost whatever.
Most of the goods I post, end up selling fairly quickly.

I'm eligible for a scroll of Resurrection promotion thingy...so I think I'll use that to boost some new pallies up to 80 on mag. That way I can more easily [and cheaply] return to my 'other' team if I decide to. Especially since the only team I took to 85 during cata was mixed-class...and that doesn't seem terribly well suited to a pvp server. [nor was it particularly awesome to play, lol, though flying totally below the radar in BGs was nice...] I might pay for a char xfer to get some money over on the new server later, but for now, I'll leave sleeping dogs lie.

I might be coming over too, Im waiting on realms to come up and will go see how AH is, population etc and especially any serious raiding guild that "might" raid in my time zone and if any have openings for my main hunter.. as I doubt any guildies this time will go with me to another realm, and I am still considering kil'jaden but as Horde, not ally.

Our guild master, Oathbreaker also does 10x hunters so you'll fit right in :)

Currently, I'm leveling 10x Hunters (level 80). So it would be fun to do a BG with 30x Hunters in the near future :)

Yep, I know of wowprogress, being going through it on various realms to see how guilds are going and what might suit my needs and wants.

Basically whatever realm I end up on, will be most likely for good, as I cannot afford to xfer back nforth, as usually I take all my toons, not always in the one go, so it adds up in $$$ and I really just want a new home so to speak.

Wowprogress is handy, but I need to see actual realm and how the population is or is not during various times I play, and I have no actual real static game time, unless I am raiding, other wise, for the past 25yrs or so, I have always had what I call cycling sleep patterns... so my game time shifts with my irratic patterns.

ow, good luck with the levelling, the x5 I did on release night and getting to 90 was a pain in the ass to point I don't have at this stage the will to level 1 toon solo (my priest that I need badly) yet alone another x5. + so busy gearing, grinding the dailies, from one faction to next, farming skyshards for mount need 3 more... and a lot of other crap and yet to raid, behind on raid scene well my whole guild is, which is unusual but that's thanks to the idiotic queue times working people have suffered and far behind... and alot of other useless crap. lol

I love hunters, played it for years....... bought the gun for my main hunter from blackwater AH, for 200k lolol couldnt resist it being ilvl 483 so early in game, had to buy it!

Too bad your hunters are level 80 and were not level 90 when you could pop stampede with x5 spirit beasts and kill everyone with no health loss from healing done, but its hot fixed now anyway.

Hey guys,

Just started multi-boxing, chose mag because I know a bunch of PVP'ers from here, and found this in about 2 minutes. Lucky pull :D

I've already started 3 rogues (for the lulz) and 1 paly/2 warrior combo, and a 3 lock group (my specialty), and want to learn more and facerolll some allie. For the scrolls to work, should I wipe the characters ive created on Mag? only lvl 3 for paly/war and rogue, 11's for the lock. Im down to wait if I need to delete them, want to com in strong as can be. Hit me back, im on DB.com daily now. Can't wait for the mayhem!

If you re-activated those 3 accounts using the Scroll, you can boost ANY new or existing character to 80, it doesn't need to be a fresh toon. Each account can only boost one to 80 though so choose wisely. You'll be prompted to choose a spec and then it'll boost you to 80, give you appropriate gear for the spec, bags, and epic flying. You can then transfer those characters for free to any server. I would hope you pick Magtheridon and join us in the Zerg :)

The amount is based on level, 51-70 is 5k, 71-80 is 20k, and 81+ is 50k. If more is needed, do a guild transfer rather than a character transfer for a little bit more cost. All the gold in the guild comes also (guild gold cap = 1M)
