So, if i understand this right, if i want to resurrect my inactive accounts and move them to a new server, say Kiljaeden or Mag ( still thinking on that ) I can send the invitations from one of my toons on that server and transfer for free? woot! i was about to drop mad cash to do this anyway!

yep i done this as well something u forgot to add is you get 20slot bags x4 280% flying with all you can do this from a level one char or a char on the accont all your old itams get mailed to you. it works the same as the arana realm you login and hit level 80 you get a free move or a new level 80.

Was just thinking about going back to WoW but was held back by the thought of grinding levels without RaF, so for me the timing of this promotion is mindblowing. I will probably resurrect my four inactive accounts and either five-box or transfer one of the boosted characters to my main account (which unfortunately won't benefit from this offer due to having an annual pass).

this is great. I have 3 accounts not upgraded to Cata yet + 3 I was about to activate for this coming long-weekend. Going to res all of them, create 5 shaman and 1 pally and then transfer them to mags for zerg fun times when I'm not feeling like being on PM without having to really level. Add them to 5 dk's and it's a decent set of possible groups for PvE and PvP fun

from what i understand
1. yes. you can send them to each inactive account. as long as that acct was inactive before 3/4/12
2. yes. you pick a new character. and then you have the option to make it 80 automatically

Just off the phone with a chick from blizz CS. First she said they had some policy to activate the scroll benefits on accounts that got reactivated recently. She checked back with her boss for a good 15 minutes (think she took a break meanwhile as well), and came back to inform me it was too long ago that I reactivated the accounts in question (which is 9 days ago), though she fully understood why and what I asked. Offering her sexual favors didn't really help my case either as she hung up the phone :(

You have to accept the scroll within the 90 day promotional period or no level boost.

I like this. You can activate one account, scroll a second, use the second to scroll a third, etc. I've done a few so far in the same day (thought I read you were limited to one per day per account though). 10 days free, level 80 free for each account, cata free (using it for sure on old lich king accounts I never upgraded). Can't beat that with a stick for 15 dollars.

hahahahhahahahah I just called billing up about SoR on an account I had just used the 7 day return to azeroth email on. They gave me the free level 80 on Mags but couldn't do it so I could get a mount on a refering account (fair enough I guess) but the funny thing was the email I just received from them about it after the service rep finished with me

I re-activated my main account about 2 weeks ago and my quad shaman accounts a week ago. I called Blizz CS and after waiting for 25 minutes I got a very friend rep. I told him that I wanted the scroll because my accounts had been inactive for 2 years and I had litterly just reactivated them before the scroll came out. I could tell that he wanted to do it but got shot down by his supervisor. He said that their system wouldn't let him, that any accounts active prior to march 4th are ineligable (I reactivated like Feb 29th), so I asked to speak with his supervisor.

After about 10 minutes of additional hold which I didn't mind the music ended and was replaced by static. I put that call on hold and called again but how its a 95 minute wait, OMFG!

If they won't credit back 4 of the 5 Catas ($160) and provide a realm transfer/faction change I'm going to cancel my subscription and de-activate cata on my account. Apparently they can do that at least, credit back the cost of Cata but then you're not able to log into any level 80+ accounts.

I don't really want to quit wow after returning from 2 years, especially as I just finished getting my shamans their full pvp set but this thing leaves a real bad taste in my mouth and I'm playing too much anyways.

I just got an email from the customer service supervisor and I'm excited! I don't like to copy someone else's email without their permission but the jest of it is they're going to downgrade/refund my accounts from Cata and then provide free Cata upgrades along with a free boosted level 80 toon per account (hello 5 DKs?). No special mount though but that's okay with me.

I'm waiting for her reply to see if she'll transfer my toons over to Horde on Mag instead of the toon boost since that would be ideal. I really want to roll with the zerg :)

That's great news Clovis, and you should get the transfer with the boost as it's for use on the same character.

Had a similar issue, which lead to the quote I posted earlier. I had just used the 7 day return email the day before SoR, I got the boost but no mount either so seems like that's the biggest lose if you need support to fix SoR issues that aren't covered by their usual responses.

Everyone seems to like quad DKs. They got back to me - they'll let me do the full scroll so server transfer.

I did the WotLK trial, bought Wrath when that ran out and am currently on the Cata trial. Sent a ticket off to Blizz and I'm really hoping they will let me use the scroll of res even though my account has been active.

My main accounts have a DK and rogue I'm trying to level (currently 60 and 63) so would be great to have some free level 80s and be able to do 5mans with those two. Plus I'm leveling my main team faster that expected at 70+ so not sure if I would be able to afford Cata for my 3 'trial' accounts, if I could get the scroll this would mean I could definitely be able to keep multi-boxing. If your friend actually sent the SoR from a Horde character then Blizzard can fix that for you (this is happening to numerous people). If your friend sent it from an Alliance character then... you're stuck playing Alliance unless you call Blizzard and they're nice enough to make you Horde.

Correct. Then just use A5 to help someone else get started...

The thing is, this is what I attempted to do and it failed... pretty hard. I had to get Blizzard to fix a lot of stuff gone wrong. I recommend for a smooth transition, just call Blizz and let them know what you are going to do, and or walk you through it. One tiny oopsie, and you screw yourself until you can get blizzard to fix it for you.

And dont bother with in game tickets. (Average wait time is anywhere from 4 days to 22 days, depending on the server)

If you're Demo, pretend they're Hunters.
If you're Desto, they're traditional casters.
If you're Affliction, they're mobile casters.

You could spec one Affliction, for Unstable Affliction.
To protect the dots from the others.

Maybe one goes Destro, for the Replenishment & Shadowfury stun.

Then run the others as Demo, which gets Soul Link and pets.
Or run 2x whichever spec is your favorite and only 1x Demo.

If you stack your toons, you're vulnerable to melee cleave...
But will also destroy melee because of all the point-blank effects you have which overlap.
Any non-cleave that is stacked will fall fast.

Locks have a lot of dots, which can be fun to apply.
You have Fire & Shadow nukes.
Pet buffs/abilities.

im still on RAF, 2 weeks left of it, tired, busy with main too raids, levelling sets, wanted some more easier, so I used scroll on 3 inactive accounts, and moved those 3 toons I got too instant 80 onto my active accounts, as I dont want too have an additional 3 accounts ontop of what I have.

You get the free seven days without entering a subscription. I just did it myself to temporarily reactivate a slave to help me farm cloth to bring up another tailor. Used the free time and just let it expire.

The scroll can only be accepted once from what I saw. As it stands right now, the one I used expired early yesterday morning, however, my slave account that I rezzed still has the rewards available for the transfer and insta-80. I don't know how long those will last or if I will get the mount if I add a subscription later. Someone else might have better information. I wasn't really concerned about the benefits, I just wanted a tailor along so I could get cloth faster :p

If you're worried about a BC account being able to perform it, have that account(let's assign it account A) get SoR'd. Then it will be Cata. It can SoR account B, which will be come Cata, and so on.

It's a great way to get all my extra accounts current software if nothing else, they get raised to Cata. If you don't re-sub the inviter does not get the mount.

One last question, you get no tradeskills? You level those as normal?

Yes just use the scroll first, account becomes upgraded to cata, becomes as cancelled but has 10 days free game time, then login make any level 1 class you want, then log back into your bnet, and find the new level 1 and claim rewards to make in a lvl 80, and then if you want, change it to an active account :)
