Hey everybody
I am brand new to this forum, but I 3 boxed back in Vanilla just for fun. Now I am back to WoW to fulfill an itch to enjoy a 5 box team. I have a very specific purpose, so perhaps you all can lead me in the right direction. Here are my goals to give you an idea of what I am doing and then a few questions. Thanks in advanced for the help! I just made a very nice sum of money, bought a brand new setup, and am going to record the whole process.
My Goals
I currently have an 85 paladin that soloes many non-Cata dungeons and raids just to get all the gear I always wanted throughout the years. It can be very tedious and time consuming, so I want a nice follow-team to bring along and spam great DPS.
I would like the 4 man team to be the same, so that I don't get confused.
I have an 85 paladin, 85 warrior, and 85 rogue. I also have a level 70 mage, druid, and warlock.
I am not interested in "mastering" the 4 man follow team, because I will not be PVPing or in any complex dungeon situations. I am just going to steam roll old content.
Questions
I am not interested in gold, mastery, reputations, or content - just speed. Is dungeon boosting still the fastest way to level up my team?
That being said, how should I setup my RaF? A > B > C > D > E?
Of the characters I listed, which do you all recommend for dungeon boosting?
I would like the team to be able to help gear my paladin primarily, but also help my rogue and warrior to get gear too. Which team would you all recommend?
If you all have any other advice to give, then please do. I am really excited about this and I know have the luxury of time and money, so I will definitely be active on the forums and recording the entire experience.
Nice to meet you all. :)

This thread (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/46733-Multiboxing-Boosting-or-Leveling-RAF-Setup), currently 4 posts below yours, might help answer some questions.

I read that thread.
It says boosting is the fastest method of leveling - I get that.
I don't understand the A > B > C > D > E examples though
If you go with:
A > B > C > D > E
You end up with granted toons on every account, except account E.
Which is good, if you have a lot of toons on the existing account A.
If you go with:
A > B > C
A > D > E
You end up with a lot of granted levels on A, and some on B/D, with none on C/E.
If you have a booster on A, but very little else than this is a great method; that could be the case, if you transferred a booster with gold and heirlooms to a new server with other boxers... and then set up RAF there.
You would use "A" to boost BCDE.
Because there are "two-hops" in the RAF chain (two chains, but two hops in either chain), you need to level 2^2 characters for granted levels to cascade exactly.
So boost four toons on BCDE, with A, and granted levels work out perfectly.
C/E each give two toons (from 2nd to 80th), to B/D.
B/D each give two toons (from 2nd to 80th), to A.
B/D each received two toons from C/E, meaning they can each give one more toon to A.
A ends up receiving six full toons from granted levels.
B/D receive two from granted, plus the four from being boosted.
C/E each have the four that were boosted.
Unlike the A > B > C > D > E chain... four toons works out exactly, and any even number of toons works out better.
In my experience, boosting is the fastest leveling method.
It always work the same, and is not reliant on bugs/cracks in the system.
I guess I am just a bit confused about how granted levels work. I am going to have to look into it.
What about my other questions?

What about my other questions?
Of the characters I listed, which do you all recommend for dungeon boosting?
Preferably a class that can wear plate armor or has a tanking spec or has self-healing (probably in that order).
I would like the team to be able to help gear my paladin primarily, but also help my rogue and warrior to get gear too. Which team would you all recommend?
I'm a little confused with the question. I guess since you won't be doing any current content and you only want to 'steamroll old content' then almost any team you pick is going to work just fine. If you pick something off-the-wall like four Rogues you can expect to have a much more difficult time than if you choose four casters.
There is no "right" composition to roll with and I suggest that you level as many teams as you can within your 90 day RaF period. I like to play all comps myself but, I'm sure someone else can elaborate on which comps they like to play specifically.

The same class will be easier than an array of classes.
AoE will be a strong choice too, since you want to blow lower stuff up quickly, rather than kill things which present a stronger challenge.
So ranged classes...
With AoE...
Possibly Mages or Warlocks...
Arcane Explosion or Blizzard.
Seed of Corruption is nice, as is Rain of Fire.
You might want a healing option.
Shaman can heal in their DPS (Elemental) spec.
They'll have Earthquake and Fire Nova, etc...
Fire Elementals, on a 5-min re-use timer (glyphed)... should be decent.
I've always liked Druids quite a bit.
For AoE they have Hurricane, Starfall, Treants...
Even outside of Moonkin form, lower level content shouldn't prove much of a threat.
While you have RAF, I'd level a lot of combinations...
Even if your current goal is older content...
You never know what you might want in the future.
RAF is only 90 days...
And it will get you a plethora of options, both for your current needs and have the option for other pursuits in the future.

This is what I wanted to know. I really underestimated the power of a 4 man follow in old dungeons. I guess even the 10 mans in WotLK would be smashed by 4 85s spamming damage, eh?

How is the mechanic for targeted AOE spells like Blizzard? Is it difficult to perform with 4 characters at once?

I don’t know how much healing I will need because leading the charge is a Prot Pally, but that is something that will be determined as I start to run through the content.
I am thinking either Shamans, Paladins, or Warlocks.

You do have a point, but I am hoping that there is not much of a future in WoW for me. This is my last hoorah in WoW. After I do this I will document my experience, post it on the web, and generate a small income from it, then it will just be another profitable web entity of mine that won’t get much TLC.
This is a bucket list kinda thing. I am a professional web developer and Internet Marketing specialist and I earn a very generous income from my projects and joint ventures. I am just getting this out of my system so I can move on to the next stage of my life – mission work, volunteering, helping others, giving back, and spreading God’s word on this Earth.
I know that’s totally off-topic to this thread, but it is the topic of my life. :)

With a software like Hot Key Net or IS Boxer, ground target spells is quite easy.
All of the boxing software options have mouse broadcasting to one degree or another.
With some, you will press the hotkey for the spell.
Enable mouse broadcasting, with another hotkey.
Move the mouse to the desired location and click on the ground.
Disable mosue broadcasting, with a hotkey.
With others (like IS Boxer), you can tie the "Send Next Click" action to the hotkey that activates the spell.
You press whatever the keybind is, and it auto activates the mouse broadcasting for the target(s) (for everyone in the Action Target Group, you set in advance to broadcast the mouse on that keybind).
You see a mouse targeting circle in each of the others windows, which moves in real-time as you move the mouse in the main window.
Once you click, it disables the mouse broadcasting... and you're done.

Well now you're making me rethink Mages, because 4 Blizzards in frost spec would be pretty awesome to watch. Pretty effective for power leveling too.
Thank you to everybody for the responses. I am going to try Shamans, Paladins, Mages, and Warlocks so I can determine which works for me.
I should be starting this weekend, so I will keep you all posted! :)
Refrain from talking about account sharing as it is against the World of Warcraft EULA/TOS.
