Just thought I would give a heads up for those who have these events in their local areas.
We had ours yesterday in San Francisco and I received Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and a suprise copy
of Windows Vista Ultimate w/SP1!!!
The event was quite informative depending on the track you choose to take that depends on your career in IT. The tracks are Developer,
Infrastructure IT Pro, Partner and Data . . person. I am a sort of Jack of all trades so I attended one from Data (YES, backup compression), Developer(bleh) and Infrastructure
(Woohoo Hyper-V). The sessions were very informative and best yet it was all FREE!!
To make a long story short you can take a day off from work (hopefully paid) and get a TON of free software and information!!!
Microsoft - Heroes Happen Here ('http://www.microsoft.com/heroeshappenhere/default.mspx')
BTW ~ They also had a code to get 40% off of TechNet subscriptions too!!

They had those window sticker things all over the buildings near my office. I was heading back to my building from the cafe and my eyes totally misread the "Heroes Happen {Here}" windows cling to say "Herpes Happen {Here}".
I had a good laugh.

the software and I will provide the chips!! Wintel FTW!!! 8o

When I was working OCS support I'd heard those MS parties were pretty wild, but not THAT wild. :)
But WTF Vyn? You really let us down. My event is full up already too. I'd thought you'd share the love with your MB buddies a little sooner... *sob*

But there are like conference-y things going on all the time.
Besides, I can get cheap MS software anytime I want. Don't need a conference to do it. :P I don't pay attention to these things.

So anyone using Visual Studio 2008 yet? We are getting ready to migrate, any known issues. From what I have seen I really like it.

Pretty much a same house different windows scenario, aside from Intellisense support for Javascript, CSS, etc. As far as I can tell . . .
Let me know if I'm wrong, I can't use my copy for a day or two. :I(
