I've seen the odd thing about hunters 'owning', and I know from personal experience that their multi-shot and shaman's chain lightning should not be underestimated.

So 5 hunters doing multi-shot sounds devastating, but why isn't it flavour of the month? People still run Pala+DK / Shaman mostly.

Is it lack of heals? is it easy to get swamped?

Lack of rez, lack of heals, lack of recovery compared to shaman.

If you can sit back and not be bothered they are rediculous... but thats usually not the case...

One of my biggest issues was having to kite and its hard to kite people because your alts will be facing away from the target.

BM hunter pets can do some crazy dmg. In s9 I made a hunter team of 4 BM hunters, and 4 pets could almost solo ppl. The biggest issue were if you didnt get a kill once you popped your CDs, you'd have a hard time to recover + focus regen was terrible back then, dont know about now. Hunters can destroy someone real quick, but as many other boxed comps, there is always a way to beat em. Melee cleaves will definitly destroy you if you dont get a good opening.

In battlegrounds, while five boxing Resto Druids...
Any boxed composition would rape me.
But against random players... with full honor gearing, ten or so players would regularly lose to me.

With my 1x Paladin, 4x Death Knight group, doing the same Honor grind.
I found Shaman teams (even the ten-boxer) to be free kills (melee-cleave is exceptionally powerful).
The 8-Hunter boxer would kill me if I was already focused on something else, but I'd kill him easily if he was killing others and I engaged him... pretty even in that regards, and I don't see five hunters being that different from eight.

I like that Pets don't have the pathing issues (in AV Bunkers) that players do, when using IWT.
Hunters have lots of burst DPS, which can be quite powerful.
When things are going well, they'll be a fun class.

They lack the recovery options of any combination with Battle Rez, Soul Stones, or Healers (who can all Rez).

how are you killing anything with 5 resto druids?

I would imagine slowly but surely.

Left click = Rejuvenation.
Scroll Wheel Up = Swiftmend.
Scroll Wheel Down = Wild Growth.

That basically ensures that the team cannot die to random groups of up to 10 players.
If they focus one toon, just left click for 5x Rejuvenation on that toon.

I would basically target one opponent, and Moonfire x5 + Insect Swarm x5.
And then tab to the next and do the same.
After applying that to 3 or 4 opponents, reapply the heals, then go back to dotting opponents up.

That is essentially all you need to do, to kill individual players that come at you in swarms.
And opposing healers solo cannot keep up with the damage of dotting several targets.

Using Tree Form and Wrath, is very good burst damage.

When I had range on opponents, they'd fall quickly.
During one Tree Form it was not at all uncommon to down 7 or 8 horde trying to come across the bridge.

The DPS is respectable, close to 35,000 per second with full Honor gear.

Also, anytime they cannot directly see you...
Such as off of the road (on the alliance side of the IceWing Bunker road).
Or down the hill (towards beneath the alliance bridge, in AV) for horde who are fighting at Stormpike Graveyard.

Starfire, instead of Wrath, because there is no traveling of the spell.

Double hunter + healer is viable in 3's...

shaman really aren't that good overall... melee can just roflstomp you if they pop cooldowns

Same thing with multiple hunters... after deter is gone you're fucked.

The resto druids sounds like fun - I don't have any druids!

Have you attempted 5's as 5 resto druids yet?
