Ok so ive been playing wow for almot a year and a half and just recently started Dual - Boxing. I currently dual box with 2 shaman. I plan to eventually 5-box but i want to learn first and get experience and get good setups.

But anyways, I was wondering what addons you would suggest for easy interface usage and hotkeying. I've watched a few of your guys' videos and I really like this one actionbar i've seen in most everyones vids. Its basically one bar that sits in the middle of the screen at the bottom and is very large. An example is the one in Ellay's videos.

Any other useful addons you can suggest would be very helpful. I dual box on one comp, with my 22" widescreen monitor. But anyways I like simple and clean interfaces as when i play my 70 Pally on BloodFurnace (PvP) i leveled her to 70 and still play as her using the default wow interface with just a few map addons and using decursive and healbot. I like the simplicity of the blizz interface and anything you can suggest that would make setting up a good dual box interface easier or more streamlined, would be very helpful. Thank you.

I am a bit of an addon junkie, but even so I learn of new ones from the guys here all the time. Here is a list of ones I would recommend

QuestHelper (all)
Lightheaded (all if different classes)
Cartographer (main)
Omen (all)
Xloot (main)
WeaponSwap (I have this everywhere because I love it :) )
Titan (main)
Pitbull (main)
Trinity Bars (all)

Check out the wiki for a growing collection of useful addons

Yeah i use lightheaded as well for my questing needs and i combine it with TomTom and MetaMap.

As Im wanting to keep things simple and as this is the first time ive ran shamans, i believe the best route would be to have one action bar with all my main spells on it. But then I run into the problem of totems and the such.

Hotkeys and macros are another issue. I have the basic macros, the bigbutton, focus, assist, accept everything, etc etc. But what other useful macros do the hardcore shaman players use? or what are your favorite hotkeys, etc.

The casting macros are pretty common for all casters, specifics for shaman totems are a bit like the way warlocks get their [[DoT]]s on.

The best way to to have a couple of macros bound to the same key on each shaman e.g.
shaman 1

/castsequence reset=120/combat Strength of Earth Totem, Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
shaman 2

/castsequence reset=120/combat Windfury Totem, Stoneskin Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
shaman 3

/castsequence reset=120/combat Wrath of Air, Earthbind Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem

This way, 1st press will give your tank + str and WF and the shaman will get WoA
2nd will give Grounding totem etc.

also you will want to add round robins to cast things like Earth Shock, grounding totem and tremor totem

e.g.
Shaman 1

/cast [mod:alt] Earth Shock
/castsequence Earth Shock (Rank 1),,
Shaman 2

/cast [mod:alt] Earth Shock
/castsequence ,Earth Shock (Rank 1),
Shaman 3

/cast [mod:alt] Earth Shock
/castsequence ,,Earth Shock (Rank 1)

This will cast a full strength Earth Shock form all 3 if Alt is held down and will cast one at a time from a different shaman each time it is pressed

I imagine that cast sequence would be imba for PvP! :) I bet Ellay uses it too, and if he/she doesnt, then they should.

what mods is ellay using, such as in this video (http://www.vimeo.com/734699). i assume ag_unitframes for the group interface but what about the actionbar and what is that one addon to the right?
and just another question but is there any way to disable chat on your alts?

Is it not Pitbull for the Frames? Pitbull is built on ag but with lots of extras. I may be wrong but I think ellay uses bongos for the action bars

I use the Ace2 mod Yata ('http://files.wowace.com/Yata/Yata-r56456.38.zip') for keeping track of totem timers. It also allows you to setup keybinds for each tree, so I have F9-12 bound for Air/Water/Earth/Fire, Alt+FX and Ctrl+FX do my second and third choice for the totem in each tree.

Also the mod ShamanFriend ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/6330/') is really nice. Will alert you via sound and/or text on screen when buffs like Watershield, Windfury, etc fade. Also shows in the chat log which buffs you've taken off with purge, only really needed in PvP.

And if you have 1 shaman who is resto I'd grab EarthShieldTracker ('http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/addons/class/earth-shield-tracker/'), very simple mod. Shows a ES icon with the number of charges, time left, and who your ES is on, will also display in chat and/or text on screen when ES fades.

I think he is using Bongos for his action bars and that looks like the Bongos cast bar, I've been using Bongos since TBC came out and it's always worked fine for me, highly recommended.

The buff bar mod on the right is ElkBuffBars ('http://files.wowace.com/ElkBuffBars/ElkBuffBars-r63558.3.zip'). Took me a bit to get used to it, but it's really nice since you can add extra anchors with only certain buffs on them, on my warrior I have an extra anchor just above my action bars that only shows Battle or Commanding shout, and Rampage when I'm Fury spec.

To disable chat showing up on your alts right click on the tab for your chat log and turn everything off. You can make the window super small if you want so you can see better.

Hmm thank you very much. Im not trying to rip off ellay or anything i just like my interface clean and simple and his is a good starting point to go off of. I was playing around with bartender and was able to get something that looks exactly like ellays so maybe he has that? but ill look into bongos.

And as for the chat thing, i was asking if there was a way to make it to where the alts dont chat? I mean i could just disable passing on enter but is there any other way? as i use enter alot in game.

The chat log doesnt really bother me much so i leave it on.
