Who else has seen this?

http://youtu.be/JEw8RvyZVPA

Ive experienced this in game last night. I was annoyed, but then again, I was on the winning team. I do not condone such activities; the reason for posting this is to ask how frequent it is?.. and also to state, I had a long conversation with the guy who used this. I was astonished to read his claim that this isnt detectable!??! REALLY!?

Its easy to spot in Warzones, and report him.. duh. But what about the people that are using to do missions?

Im keeping my FRAPS active while playing now to catch people.

They always claim it isn't detectable. Then they come back and claim they got banned for "no reason".

i was questing with a friend while solo playing and saw this being used by some slicer gathering.

While on the argument of it being detectable doing it in a WZ seems more like a question of time, probably already cancelled the account and didnt care.

As far as I understand the client from a technical perspective the client has too much "power". So hacking client is probably easy. Client can send all kind of coordinates to the server and there is only little server side validation. I experience that often when my follow breaks and slaves are jumping.

I believe thats exactly the issue balrog78. Client side programming is not scanned. Server side is. Of course being out in game with people watching is going to get you reported and under investigation, then a banning for sure.

I dont report hackers or bots or w/e. Im sure I get reported enough with baseless tickets; even had a GM talk to me once in SWTOR already. Im sure someone with little to do than to worry about someone else, will do it.

What was he asking you about? I had another player follow me around the other night on Taris. Even followed me through several speeder trips and some places that were off the beaten path. He never said anything to me, he just followed me around - it's like he was just watching me or something... very strange. I figured I was being reported or something.

Im sure that guy was likely FRAPS-ing you, or taking lots of screen shots.

I spoke to a GM about a month ago. It was only a few weeks after I was allowed into the game during early access. It was all in game messaging. Basically he asked me what I was doing. I told him. He asked me if I was controlling all 3 accounts. He verified all three were coming from the same location and asked me how I had so many instances of swtor running. I explained. He asked a few questions about the key presses, and then told me it was "kinda neat". told me good luck, then "force be with me x 3". That was about it.

Cool

Didn't realize GMs could look at your IP address

I dont know that he did. He never mentioned my IP, just said "same location".. then again, I dont see why they couldnt.

I'd be surprised if they couldn't see everything about your account except billing info.

I doubt he could see anything but maybe a public ip address that your isp nats you over to, that is unless you are paying for a statically assigned ip address.
