First "complaint" thread I've seen on SWTOR concerning boxing, and since we all love rage...

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=190119&page=1

Apologies if this has been posted before.

Its been said in that thread, and throughout my experiences as a boxer

"I will never cease to be surprised by the level of uneducated people with a keyboard."

Guys, I think I may stop boxing. I dont want the cops showing up at my door cause its illegal.

lol...same stuff, different thread. I found these arguments fun to rebut for about the first week or two. Then it just got old. It's like training burger-flippers to observe safety protocols: the turnover rate is so high, you have to keep retraining new people who think they have a new and compelling insight into why you are wrong.

SSDD... actually the people in-game i've ran into have been pretty cool when I explained. One guy went to general complaining about me and general chat defended boxing to the guy, it was epic.

Also, have absolutely no idea what Apps is trying to communicate in the first part of his post, lol....

Edit: Too much actually...

Heh, the beginning is called an "emotional breaker" in Psych terms.

I believe the 3 boxer the OP was talking about, may be me. I did get into a conversation with a young man, I believe must have been in school from the POV of the conversation. Also for the rec.. the "heated exchange" he referred to in the OP..(If it was him) was all one sided. I wish Id have screenshotted it. :(

I looked up "Voiicu", and read his posts... 90% of them were all posted on the same day, and all of them are negative and whiny... even at one point, posting "I hate your game". So I checked. He hates, macros; mods; the game; BW support; posting on forums; stupid people; people that ask questions; Sony; WoW; trolling; Republic players; whiners; not being able to swim; in game meters; swtor PVP... and on and on and on.

Im even more convinced this is the kid I "conversed" with. And if he is...hes got a potty mouth.

LOL. there are a mess of immature kids, adults, weak minded adults, and heavily insecure kids and adults playing MMOs. Its definitely sad that people will put so much effort into a video game. "Reputation"? really? I wonder if when those people are on their death beds do they run through the events of their lives and the contributions they made to the human race, if this is one of them. Pathetic. Its not a job, a race, a matter of social standing... its a video game. No different than a movie. Players are just borrowing time.

Remember the group of people that painted themselves blue and ran through the forest claiming to be a part of "Avatar"? This is no different.

What server are you on? You're welcome to hang out with us on RMP.

One important thing to know about SWTOR is that many of the leveling zones are still very much populated meaning where "normal" players might struggle with content running in and steamrolling with 4 chars will get you impopular.

So use common sence, if i see ppl in an area killing one mob at a time i try to avoid rushing in "in their face" style.

I might very well be in my right to do so, but it doesn't mean its "right" :)

I have been called everything from HERO to Noob, one person was cursing me saying i ruined the game using less then mature language, i asked him if ppl being rude to eachother in game wasnt even worse.

I understood later he was quite young and realy struggling, so seeing me "steamrole" even tho i wasnt in his way was in his limited sence "cheating", he was struggling hence should i also be :)

Tho ppls opinions will never stop me from multiboxing it doesnt mean i am not aware of them ;)

I have 2-boxed (or 3-boxed) every MMO since Everquest. Used to have multiple computers/keyboards/mice and felt like an octopus doing it. This is the first time I've ever used ISBoxer or anything resembling it.

And of course, every game I've been called a cheater, a "boxing a-hole", etc. At first I would get upset, then I decided to just ignore it. I don't go out of my way to do it in front of other people, but I don't hide it either.

Some people are cool about it, and some, no matter what you say, will hate you for it. C'est la vie! I'm old enough that I don't care what anyone thinks any more. I play my way and they play theirs and (hopefully) we both have fun.

Guildleader was worried that they are called cheaters. No one called me cheater yet though.
At the same time people are 100% ok with G15 macros. That is the one thing that really annoys me: the inability to think logical.
What a pity that I cant do server transfer (yet) :)

Yeah, sorry for the hassle you got on your hands. Yes there are a lot of double standard people with their macro'd keyboards, or "Pally Power", healing addons, map addons, etc etc form WoW and other games... But God help you if you use mechanics in place of their software for more versatility.

Cliche', I know, but you cant fix stupid. Ignorant people tend to be lazy, learning requires effort.

sucks none the less.

Meh; I guess I rub it in their faces a bit; in fact I pretty regularly jump in and kill packs for folks. Particularly when its a 'spawn this mini boss' type thing or a narrow corridor I have to walk through. Simply an expediency thing. Oh or if we are both fighting our way out of a dead end cave; then I tend to leapfrog with the other person. only one complaint, who made it sound like I was following him around kill-stealing him. not that that is even possible...

By and large most people are cool. A few are turds. meh. Maybe it makes me a jerk, but I don't really see the point of being overly careful of their feelings. I mean, tiptoeing around their sensibilities and all....

Theres a lot of truth to that Ishar. Your $15 isnt a contribution of all the people you are playing with, nor do you receive any sort of compensation to be nice. I can appreciate your strong attitude. There simply isnt a convincing enough reason to be tiptoe.
