I'm thinking of respeccing my mages for fire tonight for some AV fun.

I figure spamming will be my main attacks

/cast scorch
/cast pyroblast!
/cast fire blast

I was thinking of speccing into improved flamestrike

I would also be liberal with applying Living bomb x 5 on three targets

Has anyone played this before? Got any advice?

My survivability as arcane last night was pretty good - I think the mod to highlight healers really takes the heat off the dps :)

Fire mages can defend bal/galv and if they all get a combustion spread their entire team dies.

maybe I should have two macros like

/castsequence scorch, scorch
/cast pyroblast!

/castsequence reset=target living bomb, combustion, fire blast

You can't combustion until you get an ignite or a pyroblast crit otherwise the damage is poopie.

But trust me when i say damage on combustion is stupid. A single fire mage + healer was able to beat my healer + 3 of my dks dude to getting a combustion wile at 75% health in 5's the other night and i raged so fucking hard.

Yes, I get you - I mean to spam the first macro then when I get the crits - to spam the second one. :)

The second one can also be used for setting up three living bombs.

I just hope they don't die before I can spread it :)

5x combustion spread would be epic to see.

My wife's mage with a legendary does a combustion spread and that alone is pretty deadly when she is getting heals.

I played against tripple legendary dot cleave... boomkin/lock/fire mage with it.... i wanted to die in a fire.

Just pointing out that fire mages got a 6% pyroblast & fireball nerf today. Not that it would make them any less viable.

The toughest problem you have as mage is that you're squishy as F. Even more so as Fire. You give away some survivability and roots for more damage. Is definitely worth a shot I'd say, even if it's just for fun :)

Lock in our guild is finishing legendary next week... I wanna run Double Legendary MLS so bad lol.

Downside is the Mage and Lock aren't 2k+ arena players.
