I saw a 40 boxer shaman massacring a city solo on World of Warcraft the other night, and it got me thinking, since I am bored with the game, maybe I'll try this out and see how it is... I want to "test" this out before spending a fortune on it. I plan on making some WoW trial accounts (Which are free obviously), With my main WoW account being the lead for group invite purposes to try this out with. I only have one computer at the moment, so I would be limited with 2-3 characters.
My question is this, is the basic software for single computer multiboxing (Multiplexer?) free? Is so then would that be enough to test this out before spending a bunch of money on the real deal?

hotkeynet for instance is free and you can 5x even with a rather cheap computer - maybe just add more ram and lower the graphic settings

Don't want to sound snobbish, but if you are going to multibox, you should probably start not caring about the 20 bucks or so for keyclone and/or ISboxer even if it is just for a test lol.
What kind of group were you thinking of starting as a multiboxer?

There's no reason to spend all sorts of money on multiboxing if you aren't even sure you want to do it. Trial accounts are free and no longer time-limited, there's free multiboxing programs and most paid options provide limited time free trials. There's nothing wrong with avoiding an upfront cash investment, especially since multiboxing is a pretty big time investment to start with.
