Hi Guys
After watching some of the videos and reading forums regarding various boxing software I have decided I would like to try my hand at Multiboxing just to chill when I have a little free time.
I have played WoW on and off since the start but to be honest I never stuck at it long enough to ever level a character completly but I still have my old account. So I have resubbed and sent myself 4 RAF accounts so that I can do a 5 multibox.
I would like to play ranged just as I usually suck at Melee classes and was thinking about maybe 1 Ranger 2 Mages and 2 Warlocks just for a mash up, Is this a good choice?, I will only be playing casually so just normal PvE Questing and Grinding and maybe some of the easier instances. With these Chars will I need a healer or will I kill stuff quick enough not to worry to much about a dedicated healer?
When I played WoW I never used any Mods or Macros so I guess I may have to look into starting if I enjoy what I am doing as its seems Mods and Macros make MultiBoxing easier. Any advice on this?
Cheers

Is the Ranger a new class or do you mean a Hunter? Would definitely pick a set of toons that can handle each role specifically for the PVE LFDungeon game mechanic. If you are interested in doing PVE for a while that is...
Say, a Druid (balance) to fill the tank role, S.Priest (to fill the healing spot), and then Hunters, Locks or Mages. They all have good ranged, all have a CC if needed. Locks have a benefit of being able to summon, whereas Mages have ports.
If this is your first attempt at MBing, perhaps my advice would be to start a little more simpler, until you become a bit more familiar with the multiplexer you choose. I would recommend 5 druids... you got tank, heals, and dps all in one "ranged"-able class.
Once you get the general feel of it, you can start introducing a completely different class.
If you are interested in PVP mostly, well then you can omit the option for tank and healer, but definitely go 4+1 heals... and your options are wide open.
Pouring over the new to MBing section for a good... and I mean good long while wont hurt you at all.

Hi Apps
Thanks for the reply, I am going through the new MBing section just now. As for PvP I am not sure about this, never PvP in WoW in the past but you never know I may give it a shot as when I played Warhammer all I did was PvP and I enjoyed it.
I am just starting out in Multibox and using the same class will be easier I was just thinking about a little variety in my setup more so to help ease my nature to get bored very quickly.

No problem. We all started somewhere. Luckily, most of the hard work and road plowing was done. Now its a matter of getting your head around a new style of game play, and implementing.
This is a GOOD place to start.

Since you have RAF you will have plenty of time to experiment with different class combinations. It would probably be easiest to start with all the same class just to get a feel for the basics. Then you can change specs around or move into multi-class setups. A lot of people are also fond of simply leveling batches of each class as long as RAF is going and then picking and choosing from those to build a final team.

If you're interested in PvE... dungeons and the like... you'll want a tank capable character and a healer capable character on your team.
Death Knights, Druids, Paladins and Warriors can tank; even if your team has a Boomkin (Balance Druid) on it, that character can queue as a "tank".
Druids, Paladins, Priests and Shamans have healer specs; having one of these on the team (in addition to the tank toon) lets your queue for dungeons with the Looking for Dungeon tool.
If you're serious about PvE, you'll progress to heroics.
And its good to have the option of a legitimate tanking class.
You can use Hunter or Warlock pets for normal versions of the dungeons, but probably not for heroics.
With RAF, I'd say get a bunch of combinations.
I personally enjoy:
- 1x Paladin & 4x DK's
- 5x Druids
I've not finished leveling, but have enjoyed:
- 1x Priest & 4x Warlocks (PvP)
- 5x Priests
- 1x Druid (Balance spec1 and Feral spec2), 3x Elemental Shaman, 1x Resto Shaman
- 5x Holy Paladins (Smite/Exorcism dps build)

Hi Ualaa
Thanks for the reply.
As I am only starting out on this way of playing I am going to do the easy option first and level 5 of the same char, so goingt o play with 5 Warlocks to begin with. Then once I have done 5 Ranged Chars and if I enjoy it I am thinking about leveling 5 Paladins next, although not much of a fan of Melee Chars but guess I need to change my ways.
I am planing on having a lazy weekend this week so will play about with the 5 locs for a while see how I feel.

Hi All
Just a quick update, I rolled 5 Undead Warlocks to have a play with, sitting at level 12 and its going well, I know I am only lvl 12 long way to go yet but when you have 5 Felgaurds runing around and are 1 shotting mobs with a Shadow Bolt its pretty fun, lol. On the downside I now have a complete loathing for collection quests, doing them once is bad enough but 5 times, arrrrgggghh.
Cheers
