We previously introduced the ability to form cross-realm parties with Real ID friends, and now with Patch 4.3.2, we're adding the ability for players to use that same functionality to form raids to run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds!

This will allow you to join up with your Real ID friends from other realms and:

Form a cross-realm raid and use Raid Finder
Jump in to any classic dungeon or raid and be automatically placed in the same instance
Join forces and dominate the Battlegrounds

Please note, you will not yet be able to run normal or Heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm Real ID raids.

As we look forward to the BattleTag system, it’s a very exciting time for World of Warcraft. No matter what realm you and your friends are on you’ll be able to team up and take on group content throughout the game.

Since raids can be up to 25-man... I'd hope that "battle finder" would allow more than a 5-man team to queue for BG's.

I'd imagine it could be rather fun, having eight 5-boxers or the equivalent, in an AV.

Dunno about US, but I can already queue for BG's for a while through Real ID

Right, but only in a party of 5.

hmz, do you really believe they will revert the system back so you can queue up again as a full premade?
Must be because else they wouldn't mention it in that post, still I think it's miscommunication but I hope I'm wrong.

Probably not for BGs, no. I think the point was to do actual LFR with more than just 5 people just as if you were all on the
same realm because, they state you can't do Normal/Heroic yet... so, they have plans for it.

Cross-realm guilds? Sure. Super elite guilds? Possibly. Do you think Blood Legion wants to share their world
first kills with Vodka?

What it does mean is that multiboxers across entire regions on the same faction will be able to join up with other
multiboxers from other realms to conquer raid content which is good news.

How is the Magtheridon server and economy?

According to http://www.warcraftrealms.com/realmstats.php, it only has 2,803 active players on it total.

My current server is is medium population with 5,957 active players and the economy is shit and I hate it.

Anyway, I've been doing cross-realm battlegrounds for a while now. A group of us log into vent and queue at the same time. We only enter if everyone pops. Our win ratio for AV is near 90% and we've had up to 25-boxed toons in a single game at once.

Currently, we have a 10-boxer, and 3 5-boxers all on different realms.

We all have been wanting to transfer to a new realm so we could play together, so we are currently looking at options.

@ daanji

WoW progress might give a better view on population and activity, it basically counts the toons that have cleared a raid boss:

server specific: http://www.wowprogress.com/pve/us/magtheridon (http://www.wowprogress.com/realms/rank/us) (based on guild T13 raid progress)
us realm ranking: http://www.wowprogress.com/realms/rank/us (based on T13 raid progress) - as you can see magtheridon is #30, and it also displays the horde/alliance ratio and total logged toons

It basically gives a pretty decent indication about how a certain realm is in reality, much more than warcraftrealms. For example a realm that has no raid progressed alliance guilds at all, will turn out to be pretty empty if you visit it.
