Hi everyone!

After reading a ton of information with regards to the 'follow issue' and my own experience I have found that leveling four toons at the same time a bit encumbersome. Add in the fact that you have to do story related instances four times instead of once (i.e. the beginning levels) can drive a person crazy.

I was just wondering what everyone else was doing -- leveling four toons or two (which seems to be more managable)? I am definately impressed with the videos of people who are operating four toons in instances.

Cheers,

Rulgan

My brother and I are both running Counselors and having to do many things twice and that is more than enough such that I don't think I would enjoy doing 4 over and over...

When he is not on I dual-box & I find 2 challenging enough. I am running a tank/healer (Vanguard/Scoundrel) combo so with my two companions in DPS mode I have a full party if no one in my guild is on. I am doing this combo for the following reasons:

1) Since they are differnet classes I don't have to watch the same thing over and over and
2) I read that without a real tank & a real healer you can't do much of the content
3) the two companions add decent DPS hopefully giving me a full party that can do much content...
4) Since my brother and I are running Jedi together, this gives me a seperate story line to enjoy...

4 sounds like a nightmare, 2 is actually not bad at all. There is so much damn walking in the class quests that doing things 4 times would drive me crazy.

You have 2 options during class quests. Although you kinda have to guess sometimes which is a combat or non-combat quest, or use a guide.
Non-combat portions - Turn key repeater on so both of your guys move at the same time and can go through the map and convos together, but in their separate instances.
Combat - Usually easier to do it twice (you can have your second guy assist your first in his class quest, might have to turn the option on in settings if you disabled it.)

Have you turned on "Allow Access to Same Class Story Area"? That might enable you to only have to the character story instances once.

Hope it helps!

My husband and I have that turned on, we still had to do it twice. When you mouse over the phase it says "Only one bla blah is allowed to advance their story in this phase" or something to that effect.

It is a pain, yes... the only good thing is the xp everyone gets from the bonus quests often present on the fighting zones.

Hmmm.. I did not notice the xp from the bonus quests... interesting.

Honestly, I'd seriously consider skipping the story and going back and doing it later at your leisure on 1 or 2 characters at a time.

If you 4 box, you can level extremely quickly due to bonus xp on bonus quests.

What seems interesting is if you do the Heroic quests and the Bonus quest series you outlevel the area. If you do the solo bonus quests or the heroic quests but not both you will be spot on. The bonus quests seem to be there for soloers that skip the group stuff. Just an observation.

Really if you are racing to max level to grind content then you are missing out on the main point of the game. Leveling in SWTOR is easily the meat of the game and is meant to be enjoyed. Why anyone would want to skip the stories just to hit 50 and be bored is beyond me for this game.

One good thing about boxing this game so far is that if you do all of the heroic and bonus quests on earlier planets you can skip other planets that you don't enjoy.

See: Nar Shadaa and Taris.

I would without hesitation if that wasn't the only way to unlock ship and companions.
Thought so much about pros and cons but really want them to keep "working for me" while I level.
