Need advice! :)
So I upgraded my system a few weeks back, but had to come to the conclusion that I couldn't fit my old Corsair Dominator ram 4x2GB under the Noctua (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018) cooler on my new Asus P8Z68 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131791) board, so atm I'm using the stock cooler.
So I'm thinking of getting smaller ( physical ) RAM modules, but with the 8gb pr module, I've looked around a bit and found the Corsair Vengeance (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233246&Tpk=CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) but these are also to big to fit, and apperently there isn't made a low profile version of these yet.
I also found these G. Skill Ripjaws X (http://gskill.com/products.php?index=422) which apperently should fit?
Is anyone with the Noctua (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018) ( or another hugh CPU cooler taking up alot of space ) using 8gb modules?
And is it really worth it or should I just go buy some smaller 4gb modules ( that will definitely fit), though the thought of having 32GB ram makes me giggle abit :)

This would add up to 8GB(2x4GB), I was looking for 8GB modules that would still be lowprofile, but I'm trying to get some local stores to get me http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=423 atm :)

Right, sorry. I replied while in a BG. I don't know of any 8GB low profile modules.
I use that cooler, with both fans, on that board, with corsair vengeance low profile memory chips.
2x8: http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-low-profile-blue-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml16gx3m4a1600c9b.html

The kit you linked to is 4x4, if these are in a 2x8, that would be awesome!
doh. You win this time, Internet!
Looks like you're right, I am using the 4x4 kit that is linked (just checked) and it is not 2x8.
I'm out ;)

Seems like noone is willing to ship to Denmark O_O, so I guess i'll just have to mod my old RAM sticks untill the 8GB ones get to Denmark :(

Okay so i finally got the RAM and setup my ramdisk and I've tried using crystalmark on it and this is what it came up with:

I did have wow open and only 1.5gb free on the ramdisk, not sure if this effects the test? It might?
Anyways my question is:
Am I lowering the performance by only having the Data folder on the ramdisk and having rest on my SSD and just use symblink/junction?
EDIT: Also I've never run WoW this smooth, im on Outland EU which is way overpopulated, and I have zero lag in SW now, no stuttering or nothing.

At this point, I would say you're venturing into undiscovered country and it's up to your to run these different test yourself as I
sure as hell don't have an answer. ;)

That's really great to hear. I'm jelly. :)

The results tbh is not as awesome as I've seen other readings have been, but it might have to do with the load that was on it, will try with all folders on it to see if it makes any difference with the loading time even though I've never had this fast loading screen. Also transfered WoW over to the disk with 180MB/s lol.:D, but I guess this would be do-able with 2SSD transfering to eachother aswell. Anyways so far it's worth the money :D

Wouldn't it be easier to use the ram you already have and get a different cooler that wouldn't interfere with the ram modules?
But Man, I am so jealous of that ram disk..... My next build is definately having 32GB+ of ram, just so I can do this.

Then I would only have 8GB ram total :D, but I did solve this by buying some smaller RAM sinks to put on the Vengeance. Also the sinks that were already on seemed kinda plastic'ish? Didn't seem to do anything but look ridiculous lol :)
Edit: Only problem I have atm is getting the RAM disk loaded with the wow data at startup, I was using this guide: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=356046
But it doesn't seem to work with a 26GB img file, maybe it takes to long to save, no idea.

Try this its $80 but you wont have to worry about setting up a ram disk, nor be concerned about how much of wow to put into the ram disk.
Make sure to ask the company if you can set the amount of system ram it uses though cause if its only using 8G or something then its usless for our purposes.
But with this product they have the fastest in the world stock computers, they claim.
You will stutter the first time you zone into a new zone but after that ....
Glad to see ram disk seems to produce no lag as I predicted years ago. Not to mention setting up the ram disk is almost no time at all at each wow start up.
Im not sure how you get faster write speeds then read speeds ....
Keep in mind that except when loading new zones most all the reads are way under 4K.
PerfectCache improved the performance rating by 57.3%.
Of additional note, as of 11:00 am on 8/5/2011, this system holds the world record for the fastest system with a stock Intel Core i7 970 processor. It also holds the record for the fastest system with a single stock AMD HD 6850 GPU and the record for the fastest system with both components.
To view these records directly from the PassMark Performance Test™ 7.0 application, follow these steps:
From the menu bar:
• Click on the "View" menu.
• Click on the "Install Baseline from Web…" option.
• Enter the search string: "Intel Core i7 970 @ 3.20GHz" and click the "Search" button.
Just to clarify you have 32G total. On a 1155 MB, with I7 and you run 4 (from your signature) or are you doing 5 instances of wow with no lag in SW? Or did you only run one instance during the test?
Im almost sure to get a 2011 MB w/ 64G in 3 or so months.
