What are you CURRENTLY doing to make gold?

Curious as to what other people are doing and their normal GPH.

I'm not talking about playing the AH but rather things like farming specific instances, using specific areas to farm for items to be used for professions in the long run etc.

Currently on a new server with no professions yet so personally i'm just farming for cloth in a few places making around 3k an hour. Which isn't bad but it isn't great either in comparison to what things are worth at the end of wrath etc and being able to easily farm instances for loot to abuse.

Edit: Selling valor bracers/boots doesn't count =P

I have 25 chars at 85 and if I ever muster the will power I could make 8k gold a day from dailies alone easily.

I run Hyjal dalies on four accounts. its ~200 gold for each account and takes about 10 minutes. Later I do tol-barad dalies as well so 300 each in a small period of time.

It's not much but it lets me buy a Brilliant gem everyday.

Seriously save yourself the trouble from having to farm, powerlevel a couple profs after running some dailies and play the AH. With the tools currently available even a kid can become millionaire in a month or 2 nowadays. And you've shown in the past more than once that you are capable to make gold.

I still buy every frozen orb for 15g max that I see and sell the eternals for 35g, up to 100 a day sometimes. Really there are so many things you can do besides having to farm ...

I sell a boost to 2200 usually whenever I need gold or running low. Takes 3-4 hours depending on various factors 50k-75k and I am good for the season usually.

I've been capping valor on 10 toons a week and selling the boots/bracers before the prices drop. (Your edit doesn't matter it's free gold!)
I've also been selling the maelstrom crystals on the AH for 125-150g a piece, Cloth 60-80g a stack, Dust 100g-150g a stack, Essences 100g+ a piece on good days.
+ Gold I'm gaining from random heroic bonus.

With the AH prices the way they are I should probably be selling enchants and gems, but I'm lazy lol.

Honestly I've been ignoring my bank since I started my shaman team back up, just coasting on the ~400k I had saved up from transmutes and doing the prospect>jewelcraft>disenchant>enchant shuffle. I'll probably go back to it once I don't have exp to gain anymore. I've been finding that there's not a whole lot to spend gold on at this point, most of the things you want to get take pvp or pve points/tokens, and you can't buy those...

This is true, i've gold capped at the current cap in the past.

Thats what i'm doing... but i need the cash flow to actually level the professions. So I'm trying to figure out what is best to do until that point.

There are many things that you can buy and re-sell, but your time for GPH can be better spent actually farming depending on what it is you are doing. You also are not on the AH 100% of the time when doing this

Right now i'm thinking of leveling skinning + leatherworking at the same time and making dragonscale leg armors as they are 1400g per on my server.

JC + prospecting is also worth about 120 per stack... which still doesn't come close to the value of farming something like cloth (which seems to sell like hotcakes)

If I had some PVE gear I may try doing heroics on my dks + paladin but i simply don't care to put that much time into gearing them for that purpose minus the weekly LFR and soon to be raid on the 4 dks. Plus I still would need the professions.

Thanks ! looks very promising - I just installed it but I don't see yet how it would know about multiple accounts ? is there a sync extension of sort ? I'd like my crafters/gatherer/..., on different accounts, to work together - I did see a "guild bank" source but... for instance whitelist doesn't have "guild" (or in my case guild+rank as I have guests in my guild) and really I would like to sync, maybe with altaholic - if someone already figured that out I'd love to hear

I beat four rank 1 players in 5's last night, and three others in 3's (2300 mmr in 3's right now).

On the real, i think i can get rank 1 this season if all goes well (PVE drop wise) and 4 mage comp is stupid... dks can't move lmfao.

I am going for 4 fetish + 4 vials. I think that it will be better to have 2200 weps and those trinkets. (the tents are too low of a % to make a difference in 5's) as the two trinkets do not share an ICD and you can RNG 1 shot someone with 4 of each.

I'm gona try. I played like 25 games so far this season in 5's. Already 1800, most of my losses were due to DC issues :( 1900 in 3's after a 3 hour session. Dunno if i wanna push 3's or 5's for sitting on it. Might do 5's... but it depends on if a healer friend can get on before 3am server.

umm I find it far easier too play the AH then farm anything to make gold.
I mostly buy ore, and do JC ore shuffle, de rings etc, sells gems,made 700k when patch launched,spent alot as well lol

I play the AH, i'm leveling professions though and don't really have the capital at the moment to level jc + enchanting etc. I don't mind the farming and if i can make like 3-6k an hour... it ain't bad considering to make that much per hour flipping ore you need quite a bit of ore to start with.

What I do i run regular Vortex Pen and Stonecore for level 79,80 gear and sell them on ah for good profit :)

For the first 3 months or so, of 4.1, I was doing the alchemy transmutes.
Didn't play at all over the summer, and only reactivated warcraft a couple weeks ago.

Since then, have not done anything for gold.
But have only spent gold on gems/enchants for one set of PvP Honor gear.

Will likely do the same, for three more sets.
Which is around 5k per team, or 20k total.

The gold game was easy, and fun at the time.
Did close to 800K in 3 months.
Giving an hour for the transmute/mailing time.
And 20-30 mins spread over the rest of the day, listing/relisting items.

Not ready to put that much time into the gold game yet.
Still have 400K.

I have been noticing on my server alot of the Transmog pieces are selling for 1K. I am thinking of sitting down one day and farming some SM for 2-3 hours to get alot of low level transmog pieces. Even if I don't sell them at 1K each I could probably rake in 3-5K with ease.

Normally I just shard my old PVP epics and then sell mats or enchants on the AH.

I have 5 priests @ 81 (one now 82) - bored of questing I've put them each into a mixed team of tank + 3dps to use dungeon finder.

all the low level dungeons are coming up due to under equipped level 81/82 priest - plenty of 78/79 greens and blues! Also got over 20 volatile air on the run up to the first boss in Vortex Pinnacle. I was also getting JP for a few characters that need it! :) it was very profitable

After grinding early cata instances getting a priest from 81 to 83 in the process and getting 7 x JP bonus on 5 characters - I have the following on AH

It's from a total of about 11 runs - Azzuzin was less than 1k gold when he started, I had already picked up the gold on AH from some volatile air and a few other bits.

Let me guess, the tanks east of obsidian forest in twilight highlands? :) You can power level alts there as well. Did 80-85 on a lock there in 3 hours last week.

After camping that place for 3 hours and none could do his quests I apparently got reported, and a gm whispered me. He concluded he would not classify it as exploiting what I did, but it was clearly not intended either and he advised me against doing it again. Hence why I won't go into detail (since mods have removed similar posts in the past), but it has all to do with a very smart (well spooky) way of mobtagging and how those mobs react to that.

The less exploitive way is to just tag the 3 guards around a tank with a lowbie (they don't hit back) and kill the tank with a high lvl toon. The tank will kill the 3 guards and give you full xp for the 3 guards. The tanks nearly instantly respawns and there are plenty of them, and with lock teleport + some creative group switching as a multiboxer the xp you can get here is just crazy.
