Title says it all. Obviously, as multi-boxers (I am working on it :D!!!) we have different needs than most. I have a good GTX 460 for my main and want a nice card without going over 299.00 for my "Legion of Heroes". This is for WoW, if I need to stipulate that. Also, with a good card like the one I am considering will the 460 maybe not even be necessary?

Thanks!

(Got to run and deposit more money in my bank ;))

For multiple clients (aka multiple graphics surfaces) memory will widen the "window" of optimal performance. For most normal folks, the higher core count will give you better per-pixel detail, which is nice for single clients. For us, multiple clients sucks up a lot more VRAM, especially if you're using ISBoxer to downsize higher resolutions.

What I don't know is where the threshold is for the different games. That will depend on your detail settings and which game it is, etc.

Ughmahhedhurtz!

Sorry for all the excitement, but I loved seeing Fenril (Now MiRai the Famed.) I guess I forgot how much this site was a help back when. I love seeing the old names. And as long as we are on the subject of Ram how about that great guy who was the Champion of RAM?! He had his own site, kinda wild hair, always helpful, and could really dance up a storm? Is he still kicking it? I still remember he just thought we should run with 32 Gigs of Ram for system memory and put the whole WoW folder in Ram. The community was divided. :)

Anyway, good to be back and thanks for the tips. That was pretty close to my remembrance, but like you I am just not sure whether the better card might be the faster one or not. I am also be pretty sure it could vary from game to game.

If you're running WoW, both are probably overkill for 5-boxers. With Rift/SWTOR/EVE, it takes more horsepower and VRAM to make the system happy. My GTX460 with 1.2GB struggles with 5 EVE clients if I crank up the video settings.

Ok, thanks.

Maybe I will wait a little bit then, as much as I want the cards. Mostly I am just afraid they won't have them when I do go to get them. My GTX 460 is a 2 GB. I can see how that does before I get another.

p.s.- Oh, and it was Sam Deathwalker FTW! ...Just saw his name.
