Well, there's a buzz going around in the forums, the link is legit and it's working.
Even if I have the latest beta build that's supposedly working I'm getting it at the moment.

It's here:

www.swtor.com/download

Have fun and maybe see you soon!
A.

I was just going to leave what I had installed as it was new enough to work for launch but decided to just uninstall and do a fresh install for launch. Everything seems to be downloading fine with the new download installer from the OP's link.

Thanks for the info!

I understand there are emails going out about how you need to delete your game client for the production release client... incuding the early release. Is that not the case? I dont have such an email... yet.

K.. I heard the same thing. Clients BEFORE that holiday weekend were subject to needing changed... however the ones of that weekend and as of current... "could" or should be ok.

I cant open up www.swtor.com (http://www.swtor.com) at work, so I dont know whats being published there... if anything.

If you had played the game in any fashion time or batman after thanksgiving then you are patched up to the correct build, no matter when you downloaded it. if the last time you had played is before the thanksgiving weekend then you should download a new client.

If you go to your account and click on "pre-order" it will tell you your are eligible for early access and has a download button 8) I'm sure that's where the link leads from the OP, but this way you can feel safe clicking on the link from your account page 8)

I had received the email to uninstall the game from Bioware a few days ago, before i read you could keep the latest build for launch. I recommend, for those who bandwidth usage is not an issue, you uninstall the beta and re-install. A lot of people were saying that they had an extra few gigs of dead files left over from last few builds.

Ya, dunno if this was directed at me or not, but I am unable to access swtor stuff at work.

I did get the 4 emails last night, matter of fact, and I assume this was the "email" a lot of people were talking about... I agree. I said F*ck it, and just uninstalled everything, and followed the directions as per the email sent to me. I did check, its the same link that Altsoba posted. At least now im 100% sure I wont have unnecessary delays next week.

There is no "need", BUT some people had a lot of extra files in the beta builds that are not necessary. And unless you know exactly what they are its just easier/safer to uninstall and reinstall from the link. I'm talking about 4+ gigs of watsed files. Not a big deal.. but i like a fresh clean install anyways 8) thought others might as well.
