I'm not hoping for miracles.. but I hope this is a build that makes me smile.. almost every build ( last 3 ) Have had good changes and a lot of going back wards. I could write a book on the specifics .. but I hope this "launch" build fixes bugs that have not been fixed in many builds. Crafting needs help.. most the higher level FPs are buggy as hell and such. Let cross our fingers for a good final test build!
Hello Testers!
We are preparing to deploy a new build of the game for testing! At 12:00AM CST (6:00 London, 7:00 Paris/Berlin) on 11/29, we will be bringing the all game servers and SWTOR.com down for extended maintenance.
Note to weekend testers: Your phase of the Game Testing Program has now concluded, and you will no longer be able to play the game.
As part of the internal testing and deployment process, the game servers will remain unavailable for ongoing testers after the website is up at 12:00PM CST (18:00 London, 19:00 Paris/Berlin) on 11/29. We will update the stickies in this forum to keep you informed about when the servers will be available again. While we do not currently have an ETA, we expect the servers to be available again this week.
GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE NEW BUILD!
Characters from the last phase of testing will not be wiped and will carry over to the new testing build of the game! (Note: characters from testing WILL NOT carry over to Early Game Access).
You will not need to uninstall this build and the new patch will not be the size of a new build! (This means no 20GB download!)
We are excited to get everyone back to testing, as this is our launch build and it will include wide array of improvements, bug fixes, and updates! Your participation and feedback are truly appreciated!

im not so concerned about the FPs as I am about broken class quests, lets hope they are all fixed now, last I heard there were still bugs not letting you get all your companions, and other things haha.. :)

I just used FPs as an example of the many things in need of fixing. I know I will play it even with it semi broken..but I was hoping for better. Lets hope they prove us wrong and this is that "magic"" patch.. never been one in MMO beta history though.. so ...

I have had a blast during my limited SWTOR beta play. Trying not to ruin it before launch as I like surprises. SWTOR seems like it's geared at the VERY casual MMO player and will be an altaholics dream. Granted I only have played to level 10 twice and that's my only experience.
Let's just hope the launch is not riddled with any game breaking bugs. Launch is very important and have seen bad launched crush an MMOs future. Example in point AOC. I was SOOO excited as many were for this game and it had skimpy content and was just plain broken in many areas.
Just one of those wait and see situations. Maybe the devs will be right on top of any game breaking issues and wll be able to correct them quickly. As for content- SWTOR seems to be full of it IF you like playing multiple characters. Just my opinion.
Anyone know if content peters out badly at 50?

There is the bare minimum content at 50 atm.. the raid was broken last build. But they have time to get that part fixed and add some content. I have hope. And your right.. I'm an alt-o-holic myself. I bet I have 50+ toons in the 30-85 range, scattered across many servers in WoW. This game will have lots of replayability for leveling alts.. But things to do at 50...how much can a boxer accomplish..stuff like that is the 'unknown" atm.

Yeah, by the time people start hitting 50 there will be 2 raids and the 14(or so) heroics

I'll be 50 on my first duo in 3-4 days of getting into the pre-release, my primary concern is will the hardmode flashpoints be in game by then. As of my last level 50's, the build before this last one they were not.

Actually, I just opened my Launcher and can still see the patch notes for the just-ended build. Here's the key items:
All difficulty modes for Operations and Flashpoints now have appropriate drops and mission rewards.
Hard modes are now available at Level 50 for the following Flashpoints:
Boarding Party
Directive 7
Maelstrom Prison
Taral V
The Battle of Ilum
The Black Talon
The Esseles
The False Emperor
The Foundry

I played for about 3-4 hours during last weekends testing and only single boxing at that.
I do want to at least dual box when it goes live.
The main issue I had during the last beta was getting stuck on nothing.
I got stuck on the pathways, I got stuck on a ramp, I got stuck numerous times and it drove me crazy.
Has this been an ongoing issue?

You need to pick up your feet when you walk! I do think a few people were saying they would run into "invisible walls" not sure if thats the same as what your talking about. I never got stuck on anything.
There were...are.... known clipping issues with ramps and steep slopes and rocks.
For the time being... just "/stuck" then you die, and you can res at your nearest save point. Else you blow your travel point "hearth".

Yeah, this is the issue I was having,also occurred moving through bushes.
I just logged out and back in and the issue was gone as was all the loot that I couldn't get to.
Looking forward to playing this in headstart, need to go and pre-order today.

When I last played there was still a bug with Agents/Smugglers going into cover that could cause a player to stop auto-running. This might be the problem.
Generally speaking, with any elevator you had best move onto and off of them manually. Otherwise all sorts of wackiness happens with the auto-following character.
There is also the odd quest area Republic side that I ran into where auto-follow simply doesn't work and the follower(s) will try to run out of the instance.

yeah I had this elevator problem.
and coz of the camera angles not returning to center, repeating W to all windows would not even move them all forward. I'd have the guys running all over the place lol

I think they have said this is in fact NOT the launch build, and a good thing since I haven't been able to log in yet for more than 5 minutes.

They will patch some bugs and such.. but this is the launch build. It cant get anymore black and white than that. If they said something different, please link, that means they changed their minds and that would be a good thing. This is probably the most buggy build yet.. I know things can get fixed in a few weeks.. but every single build has had major bugs ( new ones ) Its like they fix a few, make a few new ones. My hopes of a smooth launch are diminishing. 8)
I'm not completely giving up though. I mean even as buggy as it is, i still enjoy myself. I have not, personally, experienced any of the game breaking bugs that a lot of testers are posting about. I have had toons i could not log back into for a few days. Not being able to log into some of your characters has been a bug that has been in every build in one way or another. Like one build, certain classes would get stuck on their ship..etc..
As a side note, when I say i have hope, or my hope is diminishing, I'm saying that for other people. i want this game to be a great game for everyone. I know I can deal with rough launches, and I'm pretty sure IF its a rough launch, they will work night and day to fix things. But a lot of people give a new MMO a few days, the launch means everything to them. If its bad ( long que times, very buggy..etc.. ) they will be leave and never return. AO, Conan, EQ2, Shadowsbane.. ect,.. all had rough launches and paid the price. Some of those games are great games now, but people don't care.. first impressions are everything.

I screwed this up too. I ordered both of my accounts at the same time, but I didn't think to create a whole new forum account to register the second pre-order key. So now I have one pre-order key registered in August, and another one in early november.
I'm not sure what I will do if I get in on different days! I hope at the very worst is is only one or two days difference and maybe if I am lucky they will process EA by date purchased rather than date registered on the forums.

I did not plan to box a jug.. i think I will solo a Jug if i only get one in at a time. If i can get one toon up enough to have 3 companions before the next account can start.. ill have a mission bot while i level the others 8)
