no avatar/"sig" allowed for new members?

I just registered on these forums today. (Want to learn about multi-boxing.)

When editing my profile's details, I discovered that I could not upload an avatar, nor could I set a signature. Is this working properly? Do you disallow those options for new members? If so, when do new members exit probation and are granted those privileges, please? I looked in the FAQ, and I searched the messages (my Google Fu is decent), but I did not find this info in any previous topic.

New registrations are probationary until 5 posts. This is to prevent spammers from using avatars and signatures to spam or other nastiness.
