There is a deal going on newegg.com right now found this via slickdeals.net. I was wondering if anyone has any insight if the MSI version of the 8800 has any problems? Also is the overclocked version of the card (GTX?) worth $5 extra? Thanks

I found this
"MSI GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB PCI-E is a reference card. Like ASUS, MSI does not manufacture these graphics cards on its own, it just buys ready cards from NVIDIA. So it's a usual reference card. The cooler is quiet, but the card gets very hot. However, hot air is thrown out of a PC case, so there is nothing to worry about. This product is the fastest card of all modern graphics cards. No other card can outperform it, because the 8800 Ultra/GTX is already discontinued. "

"Don't worry too much about which brand you choose, because all of the cards out there stick pretty close to the reference designs by Nvidia and ATI. Just pay attention to price, warranty and the manufacturer's reputation for honoring that warranty if something goes wrong."

I would go with the 8800gt. I had a GTS til I moved in with my brother and he stomped my computer when he was upset. I just bought a 8800gt a month or so ago and it kick the gts ass.

But was your original GTS an early model or the newer G92 model? From the info I've been reading the newer G92 models are closer to the GTX performance now instead of below the GT.
Edit: On the page you linked GTS G92 I believe is the GT OC (G92), third from the top.

I did not know they came out with a new model of the GTS. I must have had the old one. I'm running the 8800gt Alpha Dog.

I run the MSI 8800GTS and it works like a champ on 64bit Vista.
