Hey all,

I have my cleric to lvl 39 and wanted to actually start healing on him.

Was wondering what folks would recommend for a simple to use build for a boxed healer.

Right now I'm doing a sentinal/inquis/just build 31/10/11

Any one have any tips for macros, I kind of have a spam dps key, a single target spam key, and an aoe heal key. Seems okay but really clueless when it comes to clerics.

Thanks for any and all tips.

This setup for ISBoxer works great. The macros can be used as a standalone healer using keybinds

I much prefer using the keyboard rather than using the mouse to click.

I use FTL modifiers to heal the main (normally the tank, but whoever character I have up on the main screen at the moment), but I also have mouse-over healing for off-heals. However, instead of clicking with the mouse at certain spots, I press a button on the keyboard instead (while mousing over the target in the raid frames). This way I'm not limited to just three different spells - I can use the same mechanism for Cleansing, HoTs, Insta-healing, etc.

It's very simple to set up:

Create a "Target Main" macro, just like the Assist but using "/targetexact" instead of "/assist".
Create some keybinds and mapped keys for healing the main, so it works for any character. I use an ATG for the healer so the spells will always be cast from him, no matter which character I'm currently playing as main. I use the numpad as hotkeys for these.
Create some macros with the @mouseoverui modifier, to be used for off-healing - mousing over raid frames. Create mapped keys for them, similar to #2. I use Shift+1 through Shift+6 as hotkeys for these.
I use "stopcasting" in my macros for AoE and Insta healing, because those a often OH-SHIT moments.

As for spamming heals, I just use the 3-second cast big heal repeatedly for my healer. I have Warden, so I add and refresh two HoTs occasionally. If you want, you can set up a spam chain using the mapped keys in #2.

I have been using the method that crowdx linked but it has limits for raid / rift healing.

Therefore, I have started moving towards the way smedbox is healing just need to figure out what key binds to use. Think I am going to go with binding them to either my mouse buttons or my G15 G-keys.

I actually keep 3 HoTs plus insta and bubbleshield running on my tank via my warden/purifier healer for rifts and 5-mans. I just set a multistep keymap in ISBoxer to step through 'em. Works pretty good so far and the HoTs ticking means if I have to move around, I'm not constantly losing casts.

I also use a click-healing (repeater region) setup for healing other team members.

If you want more details, let me know and I can pull some screenies of the setup.

For the off healing on the team, do you macros have stop casting in them? I presume the multistep keymap activates the keybinds for the actual spell macro which has the targeting etc in the macro?

No, no stopmacro. I don't do bleeding-edge-make-a-mistake-and-get-one-shot content, so there's no need for a bunch of complex "Oh shit" macrocrafting.

The multi-step keymap just steps through my 5-0 keys on the keyboard, which I have hots set up on. So no macros in game for it.
