I spent about 6 hours today running around Droughtlands on my 39 cleric team. Made 2 levels and got the mounts. Not very difficult, and they look much better than the storebought mounts. ;)
Much easier than the turtle mount from the last event, IMO.

Grats :)
I have been thinking about getting this mount for my main team too but been taking too much time with redoing configs this week so far lol

Awesome!
My main char has enough now to hatch it.
I have been too busy soloing my secondary main cleric and toying with the Duracell build.
It's way fun to pull a whole foothold and AOE Down.

5x AoE clerics is a sight to behold on rifts. :) Though I did have to switch back to my 5-man instance setup with a real tank to defeat the 6th stage bosses of the new earth/fire event.

Last night when I was transferring my extra-life clerics I noticed that one of them had the Ash Strider in their bag from a RIFT drop. :)
So, I gave it to 50 Rogue and then did some cleanup and fixed some macros blah blah blah
First RIFT I do another Ash Strider drops for my 50 Mage :) :)
'twas an awesome evening.

That's awesome.
I didn't know they were drops too.

Just a follow-up note: the shards and gems are BoA, so you can farm them on your 30-40ish team quickly (because the zones aren't camped into oblivion like the 50 zones) and mail them to your 50s. ;)

+1 ^^^
That is what I have been doing as well.
Also, had another Strider drop on my 50 Mage, guess I can give it to up and coming cleric :)
