View Full Version : [WoW] New RAF Option Proposal

I am thinking of starting a thread on the official wow forums on a new RAF proposal, however I would like to get feedback from the boxing community as I think this would greatly benefit us.

I have posted the thread:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3278809656#1

Please keep boxing out of the discussion for now, like MiRai said we don't need this getting completely derailed as it will have a hard enough time as it is.

*******start proposal*************

This may have been already talked about in the past but I would like to propose a new RAF feature request.
A monthly RAF option to existing account.

This would work by linking 2 or more existing accounts to gain the benefits of RAF. Add requirements that each account must have at least 1 level 85 char. Each account would be charged a small fee (say $10) that would get you 30 days of RAF features. This would not grant you a mount or include the grant a level feature.

*******end proposal*************

I would like to get your feedback on this, perhaps rewording or more examples or reasons for it. Please let me know your thoughts.

$10 for 30 days seems a bit steep. You're nearly doubling the subscription rate. I think you'd be better off with something like $3.99 or $4.99 IE their remote AH feature subscription.

Then again, maybe it's not something you'd keep for months on end, so maybe it would be worth it at $10 each account.

While this would be a fantastic idea for anyone who wants to level more characters after their RaF expires,
expect for the whiners and the haters to come out of the wood work and shoot this idea down saying that
Blizzard is caving in and selling services that provide in-game benefits.

I wanted this from day one of RaF.

I think its a great idea, I was only able to get 3 teams up this time around (i work way too much). Like any idea, there will always be haters and whiners on the forums; doesn't hurt to try.

and be sure to link here so we can all shamelessly bump and support it :)

If people are going to shamelessly bump said thread, don't mention multiboxing because the minute you
mention multiboxing it'll be derailed into a flame war of accusations of cheating and people talking about
how they ran into a multiboxer in EotS one time last year and it completely ruined their gaming experience
and they've been going to a psychiatrist ever since and blah blah blah whine whine whine...

/agrees with MiRai

Better to point it in the direction of "I use RAF because it's a pain in the ass to level for the 100th time" or "It'd be way easier to get my wife/friends/cat to come play again if I could just RAF them again instead of them having to buy a whole new account to RAF on".

I got to level 77 when my RAF expired. 23k exp per quest instead of 69k hurts.

I would have sacrificed a goat to the sun gods (or just paid an extra £10 per account) to still have 300% experience until the start of level 81.

Make it happen boys. The EU brethen are behind you.

After leveling more times than I would like to mention, I whole-heartedly support this proposition.

Ugh, I don't even wanna think about how much money I've spent because of RAF. I've done 3 different sets of RAF so far. It gets expensive having to buy new copies+xpacs everytime and transfer characters around.

But I highly doubt this proposal would be implemented.

You'd be surprised at how far a money making suggestion will go. I'm sure it will factor down to the "can we do this?" and "How much does it cost us compared to how much can we make?"

I'd like it.. especially if it went to 80 like the new RAF does.

I think the only limitation would be the technical aspect of toggling RAF status of an account off and on. We already know they can do it for *new* accounts.

Yeah, man hours costs compared to incoming gains.

Either way... its still a good idea

I love this idea, and support it.

I would even say get them to give the option to pay for a "premium" subscription that rolls in the remote AH and guild chat, RaF and all that good jazz and make subs like 20.99$, and then offer all them seperately for people that dont want it all

I am so damn surprised at the responses that this thread has gotten (the thread on wow). i would like to see more though, i think for blizz to take a genuine interest it needs more post and bumps, and perhaps a blue... but all in all its a great idea. Vecter, you should pop in and add a reply in reinforcing peoples support and/or answering the dumb questions (like the guy asking 20$ total or more) just to keep the thread visible. I would... but i have no active accounts

I'm not sure what I feel about this tbh. I'm not going to say I disagree with it as I'm sure there are reasons for it but quite honestly I don't see how anyone ever has issues leveling as many teams as they want during the RAF period, even with a heavy workload.

I worked ~45 hours a week during my RAF challenge and have posted what I got done in just 2 months of RAF. I'm sure for those with kids it would be slightly harder but I would have thought it would be someone like Sam posting for something like this as opposed to someone that knows what they are doing and talking about.

When I did RAF it was 2 years ago and it only went to 60.

Even so, I only got 3 teams done. I was working 60 hour weeks, no kids, wife, and I sometimes I do other stuff and may not log in every day or couple of days.

I really wish I could RAF my existing accounts.
Suppose I could start over with 5 new accounts and level 10 teams to 81 like you did...but I'm pretty sure I'd stab myself first.

From a non-multiboxer point of view, like I said in my first post, friends and family who quit might be more inclined to come back if they could get RAF again just to catch up to other people without having to get a new account. Especially if they'd already leveled up a bit or spent the time and money to level up professions or gotten some hard-to-get achievements. People like that might not have access to things like heirlooms, making leveling even less appealing.

Great Idea!!! (my RAF ended yesterday..... :( )

Svpernova09

It's not an issue of "Why didn't you level more teams during your RAF..."

Some of us are first generation RAF users. Sure, we COULD go get 5 new accounts every 6 months like MiRai and Gurb, but here's the thing preventing me from doing that (aside from throwing cash for expansions at blizzard)

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/kiljaeden/svpernova/advanced
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/kiljaeden/svpernovae/advanced
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/kiljaeden/svpernovak/advanced

Sure, they may not have every single achievement, they may not be as good as your toons, but they're *my* toons. They have huge sentimental value to *me*. I guess I could transfer them to new accounts, but I'm already not wanting to throw money at new accounts, and I should pay $25 times X alts to new accounts? No thanks. Just give me the ability to toggle RAF (or the ability to create fresh 80s/85s)

when i did RaF ages ago, it went to 60, and there was increased leveling experience for outlands or northrend. i have plenty of teams that havent made it to max level yet, simply because I haven't had the time. If they gave me the option, I would pay a little more to help me get them all outta the 60s and 70s and up to 80.

Yea same here Crum. I figured all the trolls would come out just to derail a thread. Good thing I guess :)

I replied as well.

Its the same as anywhere. If you dont like it dont use it. If you will benefit from it please help us by adding a positive comment.

It really is that simple. You dont have to add negativity just because you can or you feel its your right.

Not trying to point this at any one person, I just get tired of the pessimistic people that crap on other peoples lawns.

Outland & Northrend Quest Flow

The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%.
Many Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests.
Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons.

I live in a country that can´t use RAF - and don´t find it as a problem to level up new toon's. My toon's out lv. the zone's so fast, that I move on before half of the quest are done. And if you boost in the right instance (Minimum Level) you get 1-1½ of a lv. every run.

RaF is a drug. Once you've had it, it's tough to get away from. However, if you've never used it, then you don't
know what you're missing.

I've wanted this for a long long time... the only reason why I didn't start a new set of accounts is that I'm secretly waiting for them to make this happen ;p

Unfortunately I started my 5 box before RAF was implemented at all so this would be an absolute godsend for me. So many times I have tossed up shelling out for the new accounts and pacs or xfers but this is a far more elegant solution.
