Hi all,

I sometimes feel the itch to multibox again and trying to think of ways that wouldn't cost me anything :-)
Since i'll most likely only be playing about 3-4 hours a month, i can't justify 5 subs.
Heck I have a Keyclone license so i don't think i'll even resub ISBoxer.

With that in mind, i plan on maybe creating 5 trial accounts, and play toons to 20 for fun.
Probably melee toons this time round (never did a melee group before)

Some questions:
- Trial accounts can't invite. Is there ANY way i can keep my toons in a group forever (even after logging off), so that they can quest together?
I can probably get someone to create the initial group for me, to get everyone in the same group.
Would converting the group to raid before logging out work? then converting back to party after loggin In.

- Can Trial accounts enter battlegrounds? use the Random dungeon finder?

- will Jamba work on trial accounts, or do they have limitation with chat channels and such that would prevent jamba from working well

- what melee class would you recommend (for levels under 20)?

druids: not sure they are very interesting at that level. or 4 bears maybe
rogues: probably not too easy to MB
RetPaladins and EnhShamies: probably a good choice, and on top of that i can probably do some instances with them
warriors: probably easy enough to MB

I'd like to use a single race for all 5. if possible Alliance (i've done alot of horde in the past)
so it looks like a dwarf paly+4shaman team, or 5 gnome warriors lol

Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
-Zub

Thinking of it, 5 hunters (or a combo with hunters) would probably be interesting too. never boxed hunters

Hi Zub,

Boxing on trial accounts is possible. There is a player named Navydew I think, on Area 52 that does boxing in the 20-24 BG bracket using his main Resto Shaman XP locked at 24 and 3 20 hunters on free accounts. Of course with his main being a normal sub, he can invite without issues. What you would have to do is find a friend or someone that would invite all your toons to a group, convert to a raid to get all 5 in, then pass lead to your main, and leave. After that convert back to party and go about playing the game.

Apparently even raid groups do expire after some time. I'm not sure how long though as I haven't tried it. Once you are in a group you can try converting to raid before logging out and see how long that lasts. Always have someone if possible to do invites though if all your accounts are starters.

Random dungeons are possible with an acceptable class makeup for the finder to let you in, and as mentioned, there are boxers in BGs using free accounts.

Jamba works fine. The only thing to watch out for is whisper forwarding. Being free accounts you need to have all your chars on each other's friends lists for those to pass around freely.

The best melee class at 20 that isn't too hard to box is Ret with Enhance next. Overall the strongest classes at 20 are Hunters, Ret, and Resto Shamans. In a boxing sense, Enhance might be the easiest to box there as you don't have to worry about any procs. The only real thing to keep track of besides health is Lightning Shield. Just follow a priority list of Lava Lash, Primal Strike and Earth Shock. Place Wind Shear on a round robin with some healing macros, put Flametongue weapon on both weapons, and goto town.

Edit: To add, 5 hunters would steamroll over everything at 20, even level 24s that xp lock to get into those BGs. Dungeons shouldn't be much of an issue either, though you won't be able to que for them through the dungeon finder.

Thanks for the great feedback.
I might resub one of my old accounts to facilitate the whole party/gold thing

If you do resub to have a main account to manage everything off of, be sure to do a RAF for the 4 free accounts you use. If your time is limited, you can level to 20 really fast with the xp boost, plus have plenty of giftable levels for your main account if you want to boost a new char to 20 really fast to try out.

One thing to keep in the back of your mind if you resub to boost chars up, once your time is over you will only have 4 active accounts you can use. I know you said your time is limited, but if you do a resub for a month just to boost, you can try and get 2 groups up before your time runs out. For example, run Main account plus Free1, Free2, Free3, and Free4. Then after they hit 20, boost a new team with the Main account, plus Free5 and 3 chars from the other 4 accounts spread out however you like. That way after your time is up you will still have 5 chars to box with if you have an invite buddy.

Also if you wish to do BGs with your main and free accounts at 20, be sure to lock XP as max level free accounts are put into the xp locked bracket.

I currently have 4 F2P hunters with the best gear you can get (working on boas right now) and I have to say, with 4 alone you 1 shot everything. I find it a lot of fun. Never done any multiboxing before, so I'm still new. When good teams actually focus me, we lose. My macros are set up to assist the leader so when he dies things go downhill. In the F2P bracket there is not many good players that do that though, but the ones that do will make you angry.
