View Full Version : DKs, to 85, or not to 85?

Ok so I am facing a SERIOUS dilemma here! (Ok maybe those are a little too strong a words...)
In short I have been playing a lot of BGs at the 74 bracket. I swore I would never level DKs, but I got so sick of trying to play a class that was clearly dead given all the retard amounts of CC/interrupts in the game, that I caved in and rolled DK.
My dilemma is that DKs are too good at this level! I have a HPally waiting at 85, but I'm not sure I want to leave this bracket given how OP frost is... Every game is like this:

0 deaths and some obscene number of kills.
Is it like this at 85, or should I just stay here and have fun? These are the kind of problems that I lose sleep over...

idk. I think I'll stick around this bracket until I can't take not having a healer any more.
I have gotten wrecking ball on all of my toons without doing anything but spamming my 1 button :s Its ok though, bliz says DKs are working 'as intended' lol. DKs literally have to be the easiest class in the game... I feel like they have surpassed Huntards 100X over.
My Shaman team is, what I like to call, controlled chaos. It's very difficult to keep them all on target. they get hit by a lot of CCs and Mele swarm the shit out of them. Against a few half competent players I really can't hope to do damage with more than 2 of them at a time. No survivability, absolutely no controls, no defenses, and they stand there turret mode begging everyone to attack them.
lol the DKs I spam 1 button and people just drop dead. It's not even funny, it's just sad to watch.
I know this is old news for most of you but apart from this being my first DK team, these are also my first DKs... and my mouth is just dropping open at how OP this class is!

Have you looked at the PvP forum at all? Did you happen to see the September 1st post on the front page of
this site? Have you read any posts on this site PvP-wise since Cataclysm has been released?
Obviously, DKs are good at what they do.
Here's what I like to point out, though...
"Oh, this new team is so awesome at level 14 I'm owning BGs!!! lolol"
"I'm only level 42 and I'm such a beast! No one can kill me in BGs!!! lolol"
"Look at these stats from my last AV game. I'm only level 63 and I'm invincible!! lolol"
"Level 81 and I'm just plowing through the competition in BGs!!! I'm gonna be a badass at 85!!! lolol"
All of the above mean absolutely dick at level 85 when you are finally on a much more level playing field and
you encounter people who have lots of resilience, know how to play their class, and can PvP. Blizzard doesn't
balance the game around level 14, level 42, level 63, or level 74 for that matter.
Everyone is going to tell you that DKs are awesome because they are. It's like asking, "Hey guys, do you think
the new Lamborghini is going to be fast?" How the DKs are used, is up to the player. My grandma could
probably roll through the level 74 bracket with 4 DKs. However, if it came down to being picked to be on an
RBG team then grandma would get picked last because she's actually a terrible player.
The real game of World of Warcraft doesn't begin until you're at the level cap. Until then, it's no secret
that everything is unbalanced.

MiRai,
I have single boxed up a 70 hunter, 70 Druid, 80 Warrior, 80 Warlock, 85 Paladin, 80 shaman, and I have multiboxed up a 4X shaman team to 85 all with 3.9K resilience. I got Gladiator on the druid, and am trying to get it on the Shaman single box right now. I understand what it means to be at the level cap, I know what resi is, no need to be rude :)
My exact words were " My dilemma is that DKs are too good at this level" ("Level" being the key word here) and my question was "Is it like this at 85, or should I just stay here and have fun?"

DKs are ridiculously easy to play. I don't die in random BGs anymore, but I do have a bit of arena gear. Now shamans on the other hand....

Post is true however, way too many e-peen nerds that have small e-peens. Lpwned you should play whatever youre having fun playing. That is the only thing that matters.
For me? I prefer 85 and exploiting my way to ungodly ratings that I dont deserve and I am ok with that. Did I mention there is a new mmr exploit available.....can google it.

Arena has been broken ever since it debuted in BC.

I purposely tanked my MMR on all my characters in 2s because its retarded that I have to win 14-16+ arena matches just to cap my Conquest points from arena. So instead of facing 2k+ teams where games can last 20+ minutes, I tanked my MMR so I can play games that take less than 3-4 mins. Since I am sitting on my undeserved 3s rating until they reset. All I do is rbgs and 2s for cap. Its fubar.
I recommend this for anyone who has already got their t2 weapon or if you are just trying to get capped.
