Feature Request - Conditional programming

This is aimed at majestic really.

I have tried to use conditions in a template page but it isn't working. here is the documentation form wikimedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Template#Parameters parameters are working but the checking for empty or undefined parameters fail.

hmm. Think I had the same problem once, but did you find any workaround?
Since it "should" be working... :(

No, no joy yet.

It does put a crimp in the functionality we can build into templates.
