Usually hate PvP and have never taken it seriously but a friend who's heavily into it with resto shaman has convinced me to give it a shot just for us to get the hang this season and see if we can be viable next season so I'm looking for help/advice/opinions.

Is there a specific spec for running 4 DK's that would be different to a spec for running a single DK?

What gear should I look at having to start off with? I'm figuring a base would be the crafted set + the trinket from starter zone but should I bother with farming honor in bg's as well?

If farming in BG's is needed as well (given we're not expecting to do well out of the box and I don't mind just gearing up from arena honor) how best to deal with team members getting dead and avoiding getting af-kicked with them at the gy if I still have team members alive at the fight spot?

I can't comment on specs/talents, as I don't play DKs, but I will say that if you're thinking of doing 5v5 Arenas, I strongly suggest getting a FULL set of Season 10 honor gear before setting foot in 5v5, because there aren't that many teams that do 5v5 and those that do tend to be pretty well geared and high rated, at least from my experience.

When I box in BGs, I generally don't GY rez any toons until my whole group is dead. Normally they all die within seconds of each other. However, if only one or 2 dies, just rez them using your DK battle rez, rather than releasing back to the GY.

By releasing at the same time you get all characters ressed at the same time, and ussualy on same spot if you die in the same place.
Gearwise, you could always try arena, crafted set is a money sink atm since you swap your gear in a weekend if u play much. (1 week if not).

For Dk, just have a res macro with combat res, should work the issue if some guy dies. Overall when you have gear and are familiar with the class, you dont die that often in BGs (specially not if you have a healer with you).

Good luck

As Emo said, don't bother with crafted gear when going for honor gear. It's not worth the money.

If you hate getting fisted in the butt because you have 0 res. Get the crafted gear. I can't stand getting rolled even when I realize I'm under geared. The crafted set should put you ~2000 res. That's enough so the PvE heroes can't 3 shot you and you have a chance against a lot of the BG heroes.

Every 85 has at least a few crafted pieces (if not the entire set). It may be a money sink on your server, but if you have the professions to support yourself, it's not that bad. A full crafted set on KJ Horde goes for around 5k. I crafted 2 sets for my newest 2 Dks for 1.5k since I already had a BS that could craft everything. 1.5k (I'm not WoW rich) is nothing compared to the frustration of getting torn apart. YMMV.

Yeah, main reason behind the crafted was I want to at least have some res and was going to farm/craft myself so really wouldn't cost me anything (yes I know, apart from the oc of selling the mats :p) and would make things less painful.

Having said that though I took my lvl 80 solo dk into wsg for the first time ever in full pvp gear and went 26 kb, 47 hk, 11 deaths for the match (along with wrecking ball and a few other achieves) while trying to remember how to play a dk...am going to assume at 85 though there is a lot more res gear and most of the people in that wsg were in the same situation as I was.

Will likely do some s10 farming anyway in bg's (once I understand the way to correctly play them) but I'm still worried about sitations where say 2 guys die and the others don't...how I go about getting them all back together without getting afk'd by haters.

If you have plenty of money, you may as well get crafted pvp gear. But if money is tight, then try to focus on boxing the larger BGs and stay with the crowd. Lack of gear will matter less than if your team is on your own in a smaller BG. So it really comes down to .. how big is the BG (10, 15 or 40) and how many toons are you playing.

As for when some guys die and others don't .. I thought DKs have a rez now... why not just rez your dead toons?
