So I'm closing in on the time to make a decision on which healer to run with my 4 DKs. I have a geared Disc Priest, who I'm probably the most comfortable with, however I think would be the least desirable choice. I also have a resto shaman in crafted pvp gear that I'm pretty comfortable with. Lastly I have a Holy Pally in crafted pvp gear that I'm a total noob with. Aside from the obvious benefits of totems / fort buffs / Fear ward / mass dispel / plate from a holy pally I'm kinda leaning towards resto shaman because of how OP they are in PvP atm unless I can spend some more quality time with the holy pally.

Those running holy pallies, are you macroing judgement to keep mana up? Or am I just going oom from lack of gear?

TL;DR Priest, Pally, or Shaman...

I finially made up my mind and I`m leveling 4 brave orc dk`s. At 85 there is a holypala waiting for them. I used the paladin in pve before with a feral droodle and some shammies. For PVE the paladin works however it seems to be something that you need to get used to since us boxers are not used to paladins yet :-)

For PVE I had my judgement on the same keys as my dps spam macro. Doing that + not casting big or flashheal and you should be able to make good use of your mana pool. Me myself found out that I eventually ran out of mana, even tho my pala is well geared. While boxing I just got behind on healing in HC and then started using big heals which drained me. I do think that is a question of getting used to boxed pala healing.

Spamming judgement works, I do however found out that you have to watch your paladin. You might expect a heal while there is nothing cast because you clicked during a judgement global:(

Same goal here with the dk`s, just pvp/pve/achievements. Hopefully they will do decend in 85 PVE

Might even replace one dk with a warrior at 76.

At what level are you now?
Edit: I just seen your sig.. 78 :)

Yep yep, I doubt I'll do anything spectacular with this team, but it looks like a lot of fun to mess around with. I've done all kinds of PvE / PvP healing, just never with a pally, definite learning curve.

Pally - no question

might or kings dps buff - pally is able to tank melee - pally is more easily cc'd by casters but that is why you have 4 dks who are anti caster/healer.

Shaman is strong for his mastery (healing low health targets), spirit link, fear protection big heals vs earth shield (which sucks if shaman gets trained cause WS is better for mana) and OP with 6s interrupt. Shaman does not have an oh shit button like bubble. With 4x DG you have peels so you might get away with it. But I doubt you can take advantage while boxing of the 6s interrupt that makes shamans so good.

Don't forget that the perception of shamans being OP comes for a good amount from their synergy with the lock.

Pallies output is nuts, bubble can give you time to land a kill and takes less micro management that shaman (provided you don't make full use of wind shear).

I'd personally go with disc, but thats more cause I dislike pally/shaman healers than for an objective reason.

Druid, well you might as well use 5 dks then.

rofl inorite! So sad, I know a really awesome resto druid but he quit shortly after Cata because they've been garbage.

I've played 2s on both a geared ele shaman and a frost dk with a mate who has a geared resto druid (with geared i mean 371 geared with tier weapons). We played just for points around 1700 mmr, which can hardly be called 'hard'. And he has 2k experience so he ain't a nab either. Sad story is that he just couldn't keep up vs double dps team with some cc. He ditched his druid, called blizzard to restore a naked 80 pally he had deleted, as soon as he dinged 85 he got himself the blue crafted pvp gear, with quite some off set quest greens, a 333 weapon and a 306 shield. I played ele myself and first night we went 20-3. Dk or feral nuking the crap out of me? lol who cares, he could easily keep me up till I could get a kill. Despite the gear level it's so insanely amazing how good pallies are.

The irony is that resto shaman is total shit in pve but king in arena, while a druid is best healer by miles in raid but blows in arena (I still like to have a resto druid with me in a rated bg turtle though).

I also have 4 DK (currently at lvl75) and now need to decide if I should have a priest or pally as healer.

My setup is going blood tanks with all four DK so aoe-healing is nice since all four takes damage. Priest are better aoe-healer (at least at this level) but I truly love pally's holy radiance at lvl83.

If going pally my strategy is to now randomly cast holy shock (using /targetparty in macro) and then cast Light of dawn now and then.

Priest may be better aoe-healer, but I like the idea of having plate classes only since they all can take more damage then.

Opinions please? Which of the two is a better choice? :)

Pally is the better option. Your priest will get trained into oblivion and once you've used your CDs, you're dead.

I have a pala waiting for my leveling dk`s as well.

Would you replace one dk with a warrior?

Thanks for opinions.

I would not personally add a warrior, simply because I've never been a fan of that class. Never liked it for tanking or pvp'ing, and leveling one up now for dps as a slave char is to much work. :)
