Damn it was hoping yesterday we would get closer too p3 or a kill but again No.
Stupid people, dying too the hammer in p2, how hard is it too bloody move in a tad or out and not even see the affects or DBM warning you of it coming, argggg.
We are still stuck at best attempts at around 42% gets really frustrating when you clear around 5 bosses in a night, best you have easiest tier boss and then all night for Ragnaros and following raid night and not making any progress what so ever.
+ we are needing a druid healer, as ours left to join a heroic raid where he isnt getting a spot at the moment, lol... guess grass isnt always greener on the other side hehehe.
Just a real pain in the ass, to get to the phases you get too, to wipe by stupidity and have to redo the whole thing time and time again.
Which is how progression goes, and is, but sometimes dont you wish you could just clone yourself mutliple times to get something done ? /sigh

Its not just raiding its most other group-based activities too. You have to deal with the dumb, clueless or just plain unmotivated masses - I have been looking for a raidlead for my guild for some time now - most common answer I get is "Ah no I just want to raid with a guild not put any effort in it". But true - it has been that way back in vanilla.

If those are not aware you can still try and find tricks to deal with it, like calling out where the hammer lands. Spread out 5 markers evenly, and call them 1-2-3-4-5, have 1 guy assigned to always call out where hammer lands, even in transition phases. Another thing you can do is mark a very reliable player with star, and tell em to move with him (obviously keep spread out when you have to). Having a reference point is often very helpful for the less aware players. We raid 25ms and had 2 trials last night on rag that never did the fight. One melee dps had to stun the elementals in both transition phase, we gave him the easiest on (closest to melee) and a few dps paid more attention to his add. And for the rest we told him to do what other melee does, with focus on moving. It's not hard to follow others and move when they move. He did well and didn't screw up by just looking at what others did.
That being said, last phase on rag is gonna be fun with your guild if they can't dodge the lava walls in normal phase. Since there are fire balls chasing you, one player shits fire and hammer/walls are still happening.
Maybe it's worth it to have an attempt where you just practice movement, as in: no one dps's but the tank, everyone just moves as they are supposed to. Might be surprised how effective a couple of attempts like that can be.
Good luck :)

lol far from new to raiding, just needed the whinge so I did it here lol
Yeah we use the markers its just people arent paying attention in p2, not like we havent done it for oh I dont know a good 12 hrs on it /sigh.
Im going to get everyone to download weakAuras and get them too customize certain things so it stands more out to them.
All other bosses are most times 1 shotted, just seems like "stupid" has decided to kick in on the last boss for some reason.
Our druid healer who left us to join his friends guild who are I think now 6/7 heroic mode has only been in on Shannox and its been nearly 2 weeks andhas not seen much of anything, so he might be rejoining us, which would help as well, as he is a damn good healer and pug healers we have used since have been a lost cause in most cases. Oh the frustrations.....
Raid night for us tonight, so No Ragnaros usually until Thur and Mon. Just hope my trinket drops, got my tier the 1st time we killed Domo so that was good.
Yet to see the mount drop off Alsyrazor, oh how i want that mount for my collection :)

We did that after a few wipes on last boss MH back at lvl 70. Was very helpful... survive until enrage, only goal!!

We killed this sucker on Monday, before the nerfs coming in, my agi trinket dropped for my hunter no mount tho lol
Disappointed somewhat in slow progression with too many hiccups along the way of replacing people, some raids halted, or called earlier and all the usual bullshit that happens in any raiding guild.
Onto some Heroic Modes and non heroic bosses we have well and truely on farm, are where alts come in too leech gear.
Least he is dead, like any bosses when your stuck on it then get closer and closer to down him, with all 10 ppl switched on and when you kill it, its like, how the hell did we wipe so much on him.
I really enjoy the last phase, makes it way more interesting, dodging fire waves, and playing ping pong with the over sized meteor.
Good fun, last phase.

Gz on the kill. But many guilds I know are suffering from lack of good recruits. Our guild disbanded because we simply couldn't replace a couple excellent players who retired (a guild that clears most/all heroics during current content). We formed a new 1 with the core players and went 10 man. A few guilds who have been around since vanilla on my realm have exactly the same problem. A guild that was top 300 in the world during Wotlk is now 1/7 hc, with the same core players, but the 10 others are shit, and replacing them is to no avail.
That being said, any guild that cleared ragnaros prior to the nerfs should be able to go 6/7 on hard mode in a matter of 1 to 2 lockouts. Shannox, Alysrazoz, beth, staghelm, baleroc are a pure joke on hard mode now. The only somewhat challenging fight is beth, but that is depending on your setup. Haven't attempted rag hc since the nerfs, but wondering how he is gonna feel.

We've struggled through Cata to keep our numbers up. We were doing heroic / hardmodes in WOTLK, but now we've just been able to complete the tier. Our problem hasn't been skill, but it has been our realm is a pile of shit. We raid PST on an EST realm, and we had 3-4 people quit raiding / wow all together when cata came out. Replacing those 3-4 people has been a nightmare. In the last 2 weeks we've really got some solid people though.
We've managed to go 12/12 tier 11 pre-nerfs, and just did 7/7 this week as well. We got 6/7 pre-nerf only 2 1/2 weeks ago. I was disappointed that the nerfs to Ragnaros this week. We were getting to the point where we were probably going to land a prenerf kill this week.
Quick strategies to make Ragnaros 10 easier if people are struggling with Transition Phases / Phase 2 / Phase 3.
Transition 1 -
I split the raid group up before the fight starts with the following makeup.
1 tank, 1 healer, 1 melee dps, 2 ranged dps (if you are 2 healing).
If you are three healing then the left side group is: 1 tank, 2 heals, best melee dps, + highest single target ranged. Group 2 is 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 melee, 2 ranged.
Group 1 is assigned to the left side of the room during transition phases. Group 2 is assigned to the right.
If the Hammer falls in the middle of the room people stick to their assigned sides.
If the Hammer falls on the left side, the melee in group 1 stays, and the ranged dps goes to help the right side.
If the Hammer Falls on the right side, the melee stays, and 1 ranged moves over. I preassigned my 2 floaters.
Transition 2 -
Same as above, except your offtank (should be in the grp 2 group) picks up the scions. Have whoever gets the fire trail to make sure they run out of the sons path, but still continue to dps. If they have fire inbetween the hammer and sons they should be slapped.
When you come out of the transition lust and burn the adds.
Phase 2 (With Seeds).
I put 3 raid markers on the floor. 1 left, 1 center, 1 right these are positioned in melee range around ragnaros. Coming out of Transition 1 we spread out 6yrds apart on the left side. When seeds spawn we shift over to the right marker. We clump in melee and spread out after they die. Then when seeds spawn again shift to the left aoe spread repeat.
Phase3(Omg Meteors) -
Key here is communication. We made sure to call out who had the Meteor especially if it was a healer. The First meteor person runs straight to the entrance of the room and down the back wall to the right. (if no fire). They go as long as they can until they need to bounce it to some one else. When the 2nd person gets it they should head to the back wall and then left, so when the 2nd meteor spawns it can be kited to the right. When you get 3 or 4 meteors up you want your raid to stay spread out, but try to be more towards the center of the room. So the sides and back areas are free for kiters.

I hate to be that guy, but every time I see the thread title I cringe. It's "whine," sorry if English isn't your first language.

Well then, I learned something. I didn't know there was an English spelling of that word, but boy does it bother me unlike colour, flavour, centre, etc. Is it still pronounced like "wine"?

You're not alone... it bothers me as well because I'm not used to seeing it. :)
But the pronunciation is right there on the page I linked:

In the +- 20y that I'm online as a non native English speaker, the spelling/grammar quality of native English speakers has gone downhill (like there is no fucking tomorrow). Same is true for my own language though, and 90% comes from the younger generation (partly education, partly internet/sms/leetspeak I guess). Not that I'm capable to write quality English, but none expects so from a foreigner I guess.
One of the examples that stands out lately is 'I'm a decant player', or 'he is better then him'.

That English is not your first language and you catch those is pretty impressive. I have friends that have no idea which is correct.

And now all I feel like is a glass of wine for some reason...
