Hey all,

I use ISBoxer at home for boxxing 5 characters across 3 computers (1, 1, 3). I ended up upgrading my main computer (the middle 1 in that list) which resulted in me reinstalling and re-setting up everything. Ever since this, now when I'm flying around, or even just running around, random characters from my group will be following, following, then they suddenly just start running off in a straight line. If they're on a flying mount, they'll stop in place.

I have no idea what's causing this or even could be. It doesn't happen at work where I also 5-box albeit on 1 machine. It's only at home since I had to set everything up again.

Any ideas or more info I could provide?

This sounds like a typical lag situation. ESPECIALLY when flying anything 280% or above. What are your current latency numbers? Do you see this happen when you fly over water or fire, or a major city?

Also, just to be sure we dont get into a whole "thing" before its even a "thing" are you sure its not a phasing issue?

So I'm sure it's not phasing, because when phasing happens, they stop dead in their tracks and I can see the main disappear. This is within a subzone, there is no subzone change when it occurs, and especially the behavior on the ground is that they don't stop, but rather they stop following and just start running in a straight line (until they run into something, where they just keep running in place).

As far as it being a lag issue, that's possible, but not what I'd imagine. I didn't get a good chance to look at my fps or latency numbers when it was happening, so I'll respond the next time I play them and see the behavior. I don't want to pull the "been 5-boxxing on this exact setup for months with no issue" card, but that's also part of it. Haven't had this problem or this behavior.

Something else I just thought to try: I actually run 4 different 5-boxxing setups, so when I get the chance I will try the others as well to see if the behavior is cross-profile or just the one.

Thanks! Probably a couple days before I respond so don't camp this :-p

Sounds like good detective work! let us know what you find, in case someone else happens across the same issue, and needs a fix.

I use ISB also, and I have seen areas within zones phased for quest chains, and I have also lost a team member... watching them continue off without stopping... WHICH when they do continue, they rephase, but are no longer on follow. This happened to me EVERY time I went into Ambermill in Silverpine forrest, pre end quest chain.

That's so strange because phase-follow-break behavior for me has always been that they just stop in place. Oh well, weekend's almost here so I'll have plenty of time to test and /rage at my computers as I try to finish getting this 3rd set of 85s. :-p

Does the toon continue running endlessly or does it stop after a while? If it stops it sounds like some client sync issues (lag). Seen som funky stuff over the years in EQ and WoW when clients get out of sync with eachother.
