As you mentioned there is Windows Movie Maker, another option that a lot of the people here use is Sony Vegas. Other options include the Adobe line (Premiere/After Effects), Ulead Video Studio, Pinnacle Studio, PowerDirector, MoviePlus, etc. Although most of the later options are a lot harder to learn/use.

Vegas = Awesome program. I really wish I could use it better.
Vegas is really good for fast avrage wow movie editing, if u have the skill and know what ur dooing i recomend using Adobe Premiere + after effect, from there u can get really quallty effects :), Tho Vegas works 100% fine for wow movies :)

is it better emo? Hmm, I'll have to take a look. I've been using PhotoShop for years, and I love it.

Moviemaker's best to learn the absolute basics with; Vegas is for intermediate users who know how things work to some extent and want to learn more; Adobe's probably for more advanced effects and options, most of the movies I see made with it have alot more fancy effects and settings/zooms/etc, they look nicer in general. I'm still in the Vegas stage ;p

I recently cut my botanica video with vegas but hated every sencond of it... it's incredibly complicated, I only used it after my windows movie maker wouldn't export something I had tried to put together. If I get get future fraps fooratage to work nicely with WMM I can't see using vegas, 99% of people are just cutting footage together and throwing in a few titles anyways

Yeah the reason I didn't like WMM was the complete lack of choice regarding Resolution of the finished vids; when I started recording, I had a 1024x768 WoW resolution and recorded at that, fulll-size; WMM only offered me 640x480 resolution when converting, no matter what I changed it wouldn't go to 1204x768. So I said "fuck you WMM!" and went to, ahem, get Vegas. Had no issues making the sizes I wanted since then lol
