AMX - Auction House add-on

as an fyi, i put together an addon to help with my bags and the auction house. i've been using it for months and it's helped clear my bags and reduce the time i take in the AH.

no more scanning of the AH
no more missing trade data
no more guessing prices or demand
all data is realm.faction specific*

as an example, here is the live 24-hr price chart for elementium ore for magtheridon.horde

the auction interface has a pop-up that will step through your bag for items to auction amd fill in suggested pricing info:

it will also auto-vendor items you specify, too-low, unusables, greys, etc:

one thing to note, norton seems to need added gymastics to get it to work. something about auto-quarantine if you have the settings high enough. if you need to know what to do to get it to work, let me know and i'll fish for the info (rhez @ magtheridon had to work around it)

as for adding more realms, the box is near capacity at the moment... tho i might be able to drop dragonblight, but there is one requested realm already

see the auto mailto option? **very** useful for us boxers. basically it will go through your bags and send everything you specify to the specified toon.

i usually leave the option on for my alts, but toggle it on/off, depending if i need it, on my main.

normally, i'll auto-pull expired stuff from the mailbox, close the box, turn on auto-mailto, then open ... which will auto-forward all the boes to my alt, boxing it all up nicely. then i'll return it and hang onto it until thursday

I've been using this for about 3 weeks now, and have made almost 36k gold with it. Mostly from selling trash, boe's and stuff like that, the automail feature is really handy for those that have dedicated bank / ah toons. this isn't just for boxers. its for ANYONE that wants to make some real g, and not have to really work at it.

Looks excellent Rob. Out of interest does the new API have any bearing on this app.

AMX was released and has been in use since May. sooner internally.

the new API would be useful, but the data isn't updated enough to help spot the trades. it would need to be every 15 minutes to be useful. even then, many last minute bids are undetectable if the item was not previously bid on.

I've added a few realms to the collector list, including Shu'halo.

please allow 24 hrs for the data to be workable. as time goes on, the non-commodity item data will get better.

Ok, posted on the forums there for an Earthen Ring US Alliance side add to the list. Quick question tho, is the AMX file from Curse the one and only file/addon I need to download/install to use this? I read in a couple posts that there is a .exe file that runs in the tray. Where is the download link for that? I can't seem to find it :(

yes, there is a tray app that will download the new data every 2 hrs (unless you force refresh). to use the new data, do a /reload. the tray app is also required for the in-game tweets and sms to work.

the app is available on the main site, amxdaily.com, via the download button on the left.

the app is fully contained and will place a few data items in the registry (it was either that or an ini file...)

as for getting earthen ring on the list, that'll have to be the next round of collectors, sorry

Thanks and I can't wait for ER to be on that list. Is there anyway you can a little feature like Auctioneer has that shows the % markup/down on the main search pages to let you know when you're getting better deals and what the average is? ER's Elementium Ore usually runs about 4g each on average which shows up at 100% on the right side, undercutters/overpriced show either above that or below. I also use Auctionator on the side for when I'm buying mass bulks of items to purchase faster or when snatching items from the AH. Will that one still work well with this?

I have been using this add on and I find it to be very useful and it does a great job of getting items to the AH quickly. I would like to make a suggestion. For the mailing part I would like to see a "send all" checkbox with a "except for" button. Right now you have it as sending what the user specifies. I found that I was specifying many items. I would rather see it send all except for the few items I need. I already know that you can't email soulbound items. But having this feature will keep the exception list small and allow for more items to be emailed which reduces the amount of trading and work I have to do on each individual toon.

Got little issue with the AMX addon it worked fine for me till yesterday afternoon and now i got the message Addon incompatible (in the addon section that you can access from the char selection).

Would had posted it on the AMX forum however that one is spammed with bots.

my in game addon part works, but the desktop client no longer updates. I am unable to activate, transfer license or anything really. As you said, the official forum is nothing but junk, hope its still being maintained as its a great addon.

No post here from him in a couple months and the forums for the project are filled with 26+ pages of spam.
I'd like to use the addon, but there is no data for my server, so I don't see the point.

I saw that, but it still seems odd to me. It's a catch 22 situation. It takes time for a new addon to gather people who use it and for word to spread. But people aren't going to use it if their realm has no data.
Rob only posted about it less than 2 months ago. That's hardly enough time to build a base. Why invest so much time making something like this and abandoning it so quickly?
