So I've tried the paladins, shamans and Druids.. And none of these classes can dps while still keeping the tank alive. With disc priests and the talent atonement, I basically dps the heck out of mobs and it heals anyone around the mob within 15yards for the full amount of damage. So with using three disc priest the tank will be getting the heals he needs, my question is.. Does anyone have a disc priest they dps with and how high can I expect th e dps to go up? Any help or comments is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Your dps will be on par with tank dps. That's about it. Everything will go down really really slow ;)

So I shouldn't even think about 10k dps? Because evethough it is low I'd be very happy with it.

BUT THEY WILL NEVER DIE.

But they will go blind.

I did it with my tank and not really knowing a "rotation" for them. My tanks at the time could do 6-7k dps and all I could get was 5k dps spamming smite and some other spell(I forget the name) on cooldown. Considering he is mostly 359 gear it was terrible, however I remember we had one solo player that would heal our BH runs and he could achieve 8k dps raid buffed. I'm sure if you worked on gear you might hit this mark with gear available now, but it might be expensive.

There is such a loss of synergy with that many disc priests, the tree mechanic surrounds shielding. So your man gylphed specs for Holy Fire, Smite, Penance spam sounds great, especially with the free heals. But you are throwing away first and for most the mana regen mechanic and the haste, plus all the other benefits. When you actually need to heal, sure you can do it, but its trivial and over kill.

I think the bar for a good pve team comp is that you are able to drop trash on the pull at instance level (not green rated mobs), so the tank pulls (lets say avengers should) and your 4 elemental shaman execute their rotation and the lead mob should die off right about at the tanks feet when he gets there.

If you are significantly and regularly beyond this, your fighting attrition fights. So DPS races and burst fights might not work well.
