View Full Version : [WoW] What do you think is wrong?

I have a unique problem.

I thought it was in IS Boxer or Inner Space when I created my five mage team polymorph macros, but Lax has been very helpful and cannot find anything wrong in my IS Boxer set up.

Here is my goal:
For ease sake I'll use Slot 1 through Slot 5 to indicate which mage is which. Slot 1 is my main mage which the other four assist.

I wanted to create a FTL key map that would, for slot 1, target a mob, set it as focus and assign it a raid mark. I wanted to create four additional FTL key maps which would do the same thing only assist my Slot 1 mage so I wouldn't have to bounce around windows when I wanted to sheep more than one target.

I set it all up in IS Boxer and used Shift+F1 through Shift+F5 for my key bindings. It works great, but only for slots 1, 2 and 5. Slot 3 and 4 don't do anything.

Shift+F1 is assigned to Slot 1
Shift+F2 is assigned to Slot 2
Shift+F3 is assigned to Slot 3
Shift+F4 is assigned to Slot 4
Shift+F5 is assigned to Slot 5

I have tried changing the key binding assignment to something different, such as ctrl+F1 through ctrl+F5 and I get the same problem, Slot 3 and Slot 4 don't do anything.

If I go to the window of Slot 3 or Slot 4 and manually click the button where I placed the hot keys, it will assist Slot 1 and make it focus and add the raid mark. And, if I press the bound keys such as Shift+F3 nothing happens, unless I disable key mapping and then it will do what it is supposed to do (assist Slot 1, set focus, assign raid mark).

Lax suggested I may have Shift+Backspace activated in those two slots somewhere, but I cannot find it in key bindings if that is so. Would that be somewhere in IS Boxer? And if so where?

Help me Obi-wan Ken-obi, you're my only hope.

Thanks,

Malgor

check the keymaps on Slot 3 and Slot 4 characters

I had that issue where 1 character wouldnt do an action and it came down to i thought i had bound keymaps but did not.

Edit: also check the macro spelling

Thanks. I'll check them again, but I checked the key maps over and over again, plus copy and pasted them so they would be identical from Slot 1 through Slot 5.

Also the macro is copy and pasted, but will check it again as well. The macro works fine if I disable key mapping while in wow and am in that window and press Shift+F3 or Shift+F4 - they work as intended.

The communication is wrong somewhere between IS Boxer and wow?

Jamba macros are usually whats messing up my isboxer macros. Did you use jamba macros at any point? Might the angry slots still have some stuff bound there?

Isn't shift f4 a special windows command? Maybe you should avoid that?

Keeping in mind that I don't know much about ISBoxer at all...

You've been having this issue for a while from your post history. Have you ever gotten it to work properly? If it's a conflict somewhere, maybe you can disable all your mods and see if it works with just WoW and ISBoxer.

If not, I'd seriously consider scrapping your setup, rerunning the wizard and rebuilding your config. I suspect that if this is true :

If I go to the window of Slot 3 or Slot 4 and manually click the button where I placed the hot keys, it will assist Slot 1 and make it focus and add the raid mark. And, if I press the bound keys such as Shift+F3 nothing happens, unless I disable key mapping and then it will do what it is supposed to do (assist Slot 1, set focus, assign raid mark).

it's -somewhere- in the ISBoxer config.

Some things I'd look at before starting over, though -

If you use those specific keys on your OTHER windows, does it work? IE assigning Shift F3 and Shift F4 in slots 2 and 5? Do the working keys still work in the broken slots? IE Shift F2 and Shift F5 in slots 3 and 4? That can help determine if it's a problem with the slots/character sets or with the keys being sent themselves.

Do non-modified keys work correctly? IE, if you use just F1-F5.

What happens if you actually switch your character sets around? Does it work on another team altogether?

Maybe none of that will help. I'm the type of person who finds it easier to change variables to see how/why wonky behavior is occurring so I can get a better understanding of it and narrow it down that way. I get frustrated when I just try to dive in with "maybe it's this..." ;)

I thought Shift F* were default WoW bindings for TargetPartyPet*

Find this file (in the Innerspace folder)

IsboxerNewSettings.xml

Open in xml editor

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=7973

and see if the macros are as you expect them to be.
