Hi all,
so I have been playing Rift since launch and have just moved to a new server (Deepwood) and I am wondering how everyone is feeling about the economy? What is making the most consistent platinum etc? I am mainly single boxing at present with a lvl 50 Outfitter who is also a butcher and alchemist (really low level in Alchemy).
Any ideas on getting income rolling?

Mining has definitely been pretty easy, though I think the best source (from what I've read) is expert rifts.

For me, selling artifacts has been good.

If there are none of the same type I want to sell I'll put mine up for 1 - 3, sometimes 2- 5 and they will sell.
Blue artifacts, again if there are none currently up I can sell for 10+ plat.

I have sold 2 x Tidal Fangs for 10 & 15 plat.

Also, mats sell very well at least on Alsbeth Guardian side.

My team is sitting in the low - mid 40s as I haven't had much time to play other than my AH alt.

what i do with my group of 50 is do crafting rifts x5 the rewards per rift and if i get a raid together with other people i can get up to 20 rifts x5 rewards. then sell the mats i got. normaly in a raid of 20 lures i get 200 planar essences and about 75-100 minor catalysts among tons of crafting mats and tons of augments. on my server planar essences are going for 5p each and minor catalysts 6-8p each.

This is going to be my plan as well, assuming I can hit the magically 50 mark at some point :)

Heh...no kidding. I got to 47 on my bards before I realized I was missing something in my cleric builds and started leveling them again. :p But I'm an altoholic at heart so this is nothing new.

Yeah, i know that feeling all too well. ;)

I have another team ( warrior, cleric, 3 mages ) that i have leveled to 10 or so but have forced myself to leave alone for now.

My buddy has been 50 for sometime ( single boxing ) and is getting impatient waiting, my sister who started weeks after I did is 47 maybe 48 by now.

My warrior dinged 45 last night and the rest are at 43, close to 44 so I can see the end.

So resurrecting this thread for additional input.
My team is now 50 and I am struggling to make decent platinum. I have 3 miners with the Tempered Orichilum and a Tailor with the Witchweave transmute. The issue with these are it takes 8.5 platinum per character to create an item worth 11 - 12 plat.
What would be a fast way to generate platinum on a daily basis? I do the Stillmoor dailies which generate about 2 plat per character but other than that I am failing to get a decent plat stream going.

Any ideas?

I've been doing the Emerald Isle Dailies. The reward bags can have 0-5 plat and a few other items in them. Doing that on one 5 box team can generate anywhere from 60-100p a day. I don't even bother with the onslaught dailies.

I also sell the artifacts and augments I get from invasions. I get so many of these things that the toughest part is making time to AH them.

I have only done a few quests in the Ember Isle, I was doing the Stillmoore ones for rep for the mount lol. Seems it might be worthwhile to go out to EI and get those dailies then

I actually moved the main team over to Alsbeth Defiant side.
I only have a few lowbie toons still on Deepwood.

I have two 50 defiant teams on Silkweb.

I've been looking for a shard to transfer the guild to, was thinking Alsbeth or Deepwood. Been logging on and off Alsbeth, but i never see anyone in the multibox channel or any of the names listed in the commons.

Deepwood seems to be medium pop, might be good for the other two non boxers in the guild. Any suggestions?

I moved over to Greybriar when my guild moved, Guardian side from Alsbeth.

So just spent last couple of hours doing dailies on the Ember Isles, made about 5 plat?? Is there some of the quests that are easier and faster than others?
:(

I'm not sure what quests you did, but i don't go out of my way to do any of the base defense kill quests. These happen slowly with the zone invasions.

Right now for me, there are two Kelari faction dailies. One is at Talos landing and the other is in Attia. These are simple and take maybe 5 minutes. Then there are a bunch of Keeper's faction quests in Ember Watch. Doing them all, including the kelari ones take me less then an hour. The learning curve on EI is kinda slow, but once you do the quests they become alot easier.

With any of the quests that let you interact with targets, drag the quest items onto your bar (I personally like 0). There is one kelari quest in Attia that requires you to examine corpses with 1 of 3 different items. Drag one item to each of your chars and go to town. Same for the barrel quest in Talos landing.

Whenever there is a zone invasion in ipp or ss, I try to make sure i grab the kill rift creatures and close rift quests. Pays for the ports :)

One other rule of thumb for me. I only runebreak items less then 15g, anything over that gets vendored for the cash.

Runebreaking is your rune crafter?
From what I see, the dailies are all over EI?

Yes to the runebreaking.

The easy dailies are in Ember Watch and the faction towns after you finish the main quest line for the island. The ports on the island only cost 1g, so use them as much as possible.

Most of the ones you see scattered around the island are "Onslaught" quests, which require you to the kill invading mobs. They take too long to concentrate on.

So as an update, I have 4 dailies in Ember Isle that make some plat (really roll of the dice with the bag loot).
I also leveled up 2 more miners for the cooldown and also leveled Apothecary which is making quite a bit of money by breaking down planar essences.
Long story short, I am finally getting to a place where I am able to spend less time trying to make plat and more time playing other aspects of the game without running out of plat lol.
