To use the dungeon finder you need:
1 tank
1 healer
3 dps
The options for each slot are:
tank
1. Druid
2. Paladin
3. Warrior
4. Death Knight (only after lvl55)
healer
1. Druid
2. Paladin
3. Priest
4. Shaman
Dps
1. Death Knight
2. Druid
3. Hunter
4. Mage
5. Paladin
6. Priest
7. Rogue
8. Shaman
9. Warlock
10. Warrior
Notes: Druid can use balance spec and still fill the tank slot in dungeon finder
Druid can use restoration spec and still fill the tank slot
Some buffs are stackable and others are not (my research suggests Mark of Wild and Blessing of Kings are not, so consider this when forming a group)
This is just a list to help anyone interested in forming a dungeon team to better see the options available. If I left anything out I will try to edit this asap.

I'm pretty sure you can queue as any spec, as long as they could potentially fill that role it should work...
unless they recently changed this.

This is true. Dungeon Finder only appears to check what class you are and not your spec.

The dungeon finder Role Check is the only thing stopping me from rolling a 5 mage team :(

I got my 5mage team to 20 and stopped. Rolled two tanks and two healers and a spare dps. Once they get to 20 I'll be doing dungeon finder. No way am I sticking to 5mage questing until 80.

People used to walk to instances. Remember those days? I think it's time both of you got out and got some
fresh air; all of that trade chat and city air is starting to numb all of us.

I like using the finder as well, with RaF i am able to level 3 mages..tank and healer.. when i get a few teams to 80 I will boost two mages and quest to 85 ( will need the rep/gear )
I have a team of hunters at 35 atm..wanted to see if i can handle NOT using the finder for one group..all the way to 80. its been fun but weird. they have only chest/shoulders and weapons. I was doing kill quests and queuing for wsg. Even losses were 3/4s of a level and wins would ding me 2-3 times. So i have zero extra gear. I did ok, but i am easy to kill with no gear ( other than the BoAs ) I level too fast to get any gear lol.

Traveling to instances is an option, of course, but I made the list for those who want to use the Random Dungeon for extra xp or simply get annoyed at traveling. The way I see it more information is better.
Since you can't use dungeon finder until level 15, it's very disappointing to get 5 toons to that level and then learn they aren't eligible.
Since this is the group composition forum I thought it an appropriate and useful list to spark discussion of DF teams and the pros/cons of each.

My mage team is 65 and hope next week to finally make it to WotLK. I've rode my mount to all the dungeons so far that I wanted to try out and it hasn't been that big of a deal. More time consuming, sure, but it's not that big of a deal.
Once I hit 60 I flew to my dungeons - too cheap to spend money yet for faster flying birds, but once I get to WotLK I think I'll splurge since by the time I get those mages to 85, I'm sure they'll have each earned the 5k gold to buy the mounts.

Since the only 2 classes that can fill all 5 slots are druid and paladin, this is a worthwhile option if you don't mind the travel time. The bonus here is that 5 mages will save you travel time in the future since you'll have a teleport on each account.

Or create alts and dump them on each Instance, with guild summon, you summon four mages. Summon the last one with summon stone or with a guild summon aswell. NPS.
I used to put lowbie chars near Doomwalker for example, to check if he was up. And 2 chars near Throne of the Tides Summonstone, so I could summon my team there without bothering with Vashj.

I agree with the sentiment. However, Blizzard obviously doesn't.
Have fun trying to get any Valor Points without a Blizzard-approved tank and healer class in your group
This is why I'm quite satisfied with my Druid team at the moment. In most instances I can keep them all as Boomkin spec. But I can still use the dungeon finder. And if I come up with a boss that can't simply be burned down (eg, Emperor in BRD who has magic immunity, dragon boss in ramparts who would instantly one shot all the chickens), I can switch one of them to bear and one of them to resto. And I know that I will at least be getting Valor points at level 85.
All of the advantages of a Mage team without any of the disadvantages! (Well, minus the mirror images which are way too good. The next best thing we have is infinite Typhoon knockbacks + solar beams which means I don't have to use any CC, even for ranged or caster groups). And for my next team i'm thinking of something along the lines of 4 warriors + healer, possibly paladin. Seems like that would be able to cleave through nearly anything as 5x dps spec but still fulfill the dungeon finder role check, and if that fails there's a backup tank and healer.

How important are buffs and what buffs stack? In an all Druid team can you stack 5 Mark of the Wild?
For example if I have a Mage and a Warlock I can have Arcane Brilliance and Demonic Pact, but are the buffs worthwhile over just having 2 Mages or 2 Warlocks?

Buffs don't stack as a rule of thumb. MOTW will not stack with MOTW, nor will it stack with Blessing of Kings.
A lot of people build groups based on buffs. They're looking for maximum synergy among their group. For example, I consider throwing a Feral druid in to my group to replace my husband's DK {in sig}. I'd gain Critical Strike Chance from LotP, Stat modifier from MotW, Armor debuff from FF and +bleed damage from Mangle.
BUT - I already have two paladins, one of them is always providing stat buffs from BOK, none of my other guys use bleed damage. That makes it less "useful" than say using a Fury Warrior, which gives me both the crit strike buff and the armor debuff, as well as a healing debuff. Or perhaps a hunter where I can use pets on a case-by-case basis to provide whatever might be most useful at any given time.

Does Totemic Wrath(shaman) stack with Demonic Pact(warlock) for a 20% spellpower buff?
I'm guessing no, based on MOTW and BOK not stacking.
If you can only have one of each buff, maybe I can sort these into melee dps and magic dps groups and post them in a new thread.
One of the advantages we have over a solo player is predictable buffs from our party.

True- and finding exceptions requires extensive searching and/or experimenting. At some point I might be tempted to go through the trouble of making a database (including party and self buffs) that stack, but where would I put it and who would be interested?

No reason to - we have this already.

Thats a great link! Added it to my favorites list. The only difference between that and what I was thinking is how the information is presented, as in on this site, but a better option might be to keep that link up somewhere obvious (at least I haven't seen it other than in response to something I posted). Of course that's not for me to decide.

A link to the RaidComp is in my Newb's Guide to Multiboxing post. I wrote up a comparison guide when Cata was still in beta for people to use here until MMOChampion's was updated. No real need to reinvent the wheel, when the wheel someone else invented is already better. ;)
