Some people are hating and others are believing. One thing that looks weird is the address on the top.
Blizzard is in Irvine and BlizzCon is in Anaheim. No idea where Santa Monica falls into that. /shrug

Fake according to mmo, and their claim is pretty solid.

You're no fun. =(

Here's (http://start.cortera.com/company/research/k3n0jqo6o/activision-blizzard-inc/) where the address falls into play.

but it is about time for a exp to be said whatever when its "official announced" it still take over a good year to even think about beta. and to be fair am not sure how much longer cata can go.

Cata went somewhere? Hell, I've been waiting for it to do that since January! ;P

I am sure they are well underway on the next expansion...it's not like the announce and then start working on it. They can't wait another year unless they have some pretty big filler. Players are just too impatient now.

My guess is that the next expansion will be even more craptastic than cataclysm

upto level 100 was made from what tey said once. but if they wait till next year bizzcon 2012 to announce it. then it more like 2013 till we see anything. from the sounds of the dev talks 4.3 soulds like the last raid and firelands hc been clean out on day one then this not going to be a long one though they culd add some hc agean.

prediction...next hero class will be "Demon Hunter" some hybrid of a hunter and lock, aka a ranged death knight... Just my two cents.

On some level, I would assume that they are working several expansions ahead. There's simply too much work going into new zones and quests and items, etc, that you can't develop them sequentially and expect to release a new one every 12-18 months. I can only imagine how long they were working on the old-world revamp in order to allow flying in those zones, while still telling players that they 'hadn't made plans for it yet.'

As for the document re: Vengeance of the Void, I didn't see it until I saw the "it's a hoax" messages so I don't know how I would've reacted. Though some people did point out that it had several red flags. Aside from the header and address and the "neglected shadow priest class" line, someone pointed out that it really didn't read like an internal memo giving guidance to employees. It read like a "let's show people what we intend to add to the expansion" memo... and no one writes memos like that; you have meetings to discuss that kind of thing.

I dunno, even later this year seems a bit early to do more than give a quick glimpse of the next expansion. I'd be happy if the main announcement at the next BlizzCon is "Diablo III is ready to ship."

That document looks fake but I wouldn't be surprised if the idea was real. Blizz just came out with a whole bunch of art (created by in-house concept artists, not fans) relating to Burning Crusade so I wouldn't be surprised if they are going along in that direction.

I don't think it is real as far as an expansion goes. Maybe a major patch? They already said it was weird to be fighting deathwing to level 60 then hop to outlands and for 10 levels you are suddenly up against Stormrage and poof, back to the whole deathwing bit again.

Also I am pretty sure A'del is a race not a NPC, and with no new race/class why have new starter zones?

^THIS!

If I were to bet on the next expansion, I would be placing my money on a revamped Outland. Would be very curious to see how they keep the 60-70 level grind intact while adding new content though...

there are still tons of "worlds" they haven't tapped into yet. The burning legion's starting planet (i forget the name) is one. Also Sagreas or whatever his name is is still a powerful boss we haven't battled yet.

Sargeras is the Dark Titan, you could consider him the supreme commander of the entire Burning Legion. If we start battling him, that's going to be the last expansion for WoW. Period.

It's either going to be a revamped Burning Legion or something to do with the highborne and Lady Azshara since there's the Darkshore questline where she finally makes an appearance.

A'dal (NPC) is a Naaru (race), he's the shiny thingy floating in the middle of Shattrath.
There's a few Naarus scattered across Outland

Expansions are prolly going to be around one of these ideas I would guess.

Emerald Dream and the Old Gods. We have Yesera the Green Aspect out and about now. The Stormrage book and the fact that the portals to the Emerald Dream have been in the game since vanilla.

Burning Legion: Sagerous hasn't been touched, we have underwater zones and the maelstrom now. Lady Azshara is untouched lore still.

Twilight Dragonflight. Been fighting these guys for 3 expansions, Knaak's books support this as a possibility. Nosdromu was present during Thrall's wedding thing. As far as I know thats the only time he has ever been "present' for something. The graveyard Nosdromu in lich king doesn't count. Might bundle this in with an Emerald Dream expansion as its all old god stuff as well.

New worlds: There are those heroes from the warcraft RTS games that went through the portal and never heard of again. The ones that have the statues at the entrance of Stormwind.

My guess is they have the next 3 expansions on the drawing board if not more and most likely had BC and LK on the drawing board during the launch of vanilla.

I still think the 'Emerald Dream/Emerald Nightmare' will eventually make it out and probably be the next expansion. People use to get into the Emerald Dream and there's obviously been lots of work done on that zone. Plus all kinds of dev markings on the ground indicating where things would go etc...

The videos are pretty old but still can be found on Youtube.

For Emerald Dream, my money is it being an Azeroth revamp (which would be the 3rd expansion from now), since it is a twin world you could have all the dream versions of various zones without impacting the normal zones.

If this next expansion is a Outland revamp, I'd love to find out about Turaylon and the third Windrunner sister who disappeared with him.

For the next expansion they will be merging the worlds of Warcraft and Starcraft and calling the expansion Worlf of Warcraft: 40k Zerg of the Zerglings
