Prot Warrior

Anyone using a prot warrior currently? Looking for a good "current" prot warrior macro set up. I have some basic stuff.. just wanting to see if anyone is using one as a main tank and might have updated info on them. There is some older threads about prt warriors.. they seem out of date?

Here is my prot warrior setup, 4 macros that are spammed at the press of one button:

Macro 1:
/startattack
/cast Shield Block
/cast Shield Slam

Macro 2:
/castsequence reset=target Rend, Devastate,Devastate,Devastate
/cast Heroic Strike

Macro 3:
/cast Revenge

Macro 4:
/cast Victory Rush

This is for single target, aoe tanking button replaces macro 2 with this macro:

Macro 2:
/castsequence reset=target Rend, Devastate,Devastate,Devastate
/cast Cleave

Thunderclap and shockwave are separate buttons that I press individually.

I've never liked the idea of having my tank use a macro. I like to control when my tank abilities are used and on what mob. Warriors don't have the aoe tanking ability like paladins, so sometimes you will have to multi target and throw sunders on other mobs to keep aggro.

I need full control of thunder clap, in case any random mobs come out of nowhere I can just set that off and it picks them up easily.

But that's just my playstyle, other people might differ.

As far as tanking, I love warriors the most. Fun to play, great abilities, despite their lack of aoe tanking compared to a paladin.

You just create 4 actions under that step of the keymap. It's the same thing as just facerolling those 4 keys at
once on the keyboard.

Facerolling sums up cata tanking pretty conclusively. You can even raid successfully with a similar 1 button "faceroll" macro setup because threat is hardly an issue, the only "skill" left in tanking is using cooldowns well.

My DPS button = 4
I have 5 chars who use that button.
When every char has 4 DPS macro's I have to make 20 steps of "New World of Warcraf macro actions"?
And every macro is send to the right target char.

Hopefully this will work.

Any help would be appriciated :)

Yea.. i figured thats how he did it.. so i did the same thing..works great! As I'm leveling through pre-wrath stuff.. i find zero need to CC anything. so i have everything in those 4 macros.. including thunder..8)
