5 warlocks any good for pve ?

the only class i havent boxed is warlock and i was wanting to know if the lock pets would be able to tank in heroics or do they get killed pretty quick

You just can keep the pets alive vs bosses. Maybe with a very complicated cycle in summing pets you could manage to kill HC bosses. Like always making sure to have atleast 1 VW(voidwalker) alive, so summon a new one on slave 2, when the VW from slave 1 dies. When the VW from 2 dies, 3 summons one.

And with no healing really beyond life drain...

I can't see 5 locks getting too far.

The only way VW's stay alive is via health funnel + outside heals (which is slow due to having to carefully manage aggro but can be done), which you can't do with 5 locks.

Ty for info i think I'll have to try something else as I don't wana struggle on everyboss, but I'm just not sure what I can box that can do heroics apart from shammys n pallys

I would think you would fall asleep pretty fast doing it. I deleted my 5 lock team before level 20 if I recall so i don't have a frame of reference for farder content

I triboxed 3 warlocks to 62. Mostly boosted though. Imo the class warlock in general is quite complicated to box really succesful. Which made them a lot of fun to play for me, I prefer that over mages spamming AB for example. Eventhough the mage is more effective. You'll always need a tank + healer for PVE. It's that simple.

Yes, if you are thinking about boxing some warlocks, you will have more success as them being a pvp team.

Only experience I have is easily clearing Ramps at level 60 with my 5 locks. But that was normal difficulty, I'm sure the voids would get owned in a Cata heroic.

ive seen 5 mages clear almost all heroics in cata there are vids on these forums of doing it amirite? insane dps>heals tank. im sure not all can be cleared but most prolly could be done in this way.

That's Runtu yes. He's 10boxing 10 mages now.

This does not work with warlock because you lack:
mirror images to tank
CD's that boostt your dps immensly.
Survivability spells like invis and iceblock.

Only arcane mages can do what he does.

I'm almost certain that no 5-dps team can clear cata heroic bosses except mages. The mirror images give you the time to down the boss without taking any hits. But if you take even one hit, you will die.

If you have an outstandingly raid-geared healer you can do some heroics with a geared plate DPS tanking but it will be difficult to keep threat as well as to keep them alive.

This is why my 5x boomkin team has one of the druids with an alternate bear spec and one with a resto spec.

Elementals shams can probably still do it to some extend. 5x earth ele, 5 x fire ele and Bloodlust/Heroism should help a lot. 10min waiting time a bit much though.
