Well, I just booted into Incarna and each client added took a bite out of performance. With all five going the computer was almost unresponsive (the clients were unresponsive.)

Apparently it was chewing up 91%+ of my physical RAM.

Just so you can benchmark i7 930, 6GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA 285 1G

I think I could squeak 2 clients with Incarna running, but 5 is a no-go.

Sigh. Is this in station only, and its fine in space?

I love the back and forth about "well, we don't support old and gnarly hardware in multi-client situations anymore" vs "so a GTX260 is 'old and gnarly' now?"

I'v got a quadcore Q660 with a GeForce 8600GT - Looks like I'll be lucky to run two instances...

Nice update CCP...

I disabled the in station graphics and it went back to similar performance from before the upgrade.

Yeah I did the same jk. Oh well doesn't bother me too much I don't see a lot of added value from the cq at this point so don't mind turning it off. The big issue is supposedly turning it off is a temporary option so that's potentially troubling for us.

I wasn't that impressed with the new updates either. The agent finder was nice but everything else was just meh in my opinion.

I'll try disabling the station graphics this evening and give boxing a spin.

Did anyone look at the prices in the 'Noble Exchange' yet? CCP want you to pay the equivalent of a months subscription for each item of clothing you want to buy - and the only person that can see them is you!

I really, really think CCP has badly lost the plot.

Yeah that was a WTF moment for me as well. I'm really not sure what they're hoping to accomplish with this half-assed roll out of features.

Frankly, and I don't use these words often, this is an epic fail.

People are really pissed on the EVE boards. I don't think I've ever seen this much hatred towards an expansion before.

Just got to see the in-station stuff for the first time last night, and I gotta say: Who cares?

Seems like a beta test for Dust and WoD to me.

doesn't bother me AS LONG as you can continue to disable it and we dont have a mandatory performance hit. a lot of people love this kind of shit so you can't blame them for implementing it. plus you will be able to see other people and do your silly second life sex party in 10-forward soon i think.

Now if they had billed it like this I would totally be an Incarna fan!

$50 for uniform?!? Never! How much for the lingerie?

So there's been an announcement after the emerency CSM meeting that was under NDA for some reason and basically you can read it two ways.

The way a lot of forum players do which is that they're only going to sell vanity items for 'micro' transactions - lots of rejoicing on the forums. Or the other way which is that nothing at all has changed and they're going to carry on exactly as they were before now that the players have settled down - treating them as idiots (which, admittedly, a lot of players are after all).

Note that they are specifcally _not_ going to change the price of the current items in the NeX but will add some lower price items. It looks like the EVE in game store will be the single most expensive store in any game.

Also note that they are not going to put ship spinning back until they want to and that they're going to compensate for the heavy duty graphics by upping the minimum spec - doing nothing at all to put multiboxing back where it used to be.

I think it's the end of EVE for me for quite some time and I'm very unlikely to box it again - anyone want to buy some characters?

It just seems like the performance hits are only in station... what are you experiencing in space and as a result of what changes?
