I have an 85 paladin, so I'm going to level 5 DKs.I will do 4DKs+ holy pal at 80. Is there a consolidated DK post? I plan to level via instancing and PvP. I thought I found one before the site moved. One that discusses macros/specs/PvE and PvP ideas.. Leveling specs etc..
Searching for this info seems to lead to a lot of dated posts. Is the Mosg DK Manifesto still working for current patch changes?
OR..
Warriors the new melee team? I miss the palies in WotL 8(

Leveling...blood? I think at 70 i will add one one my healers.. i have a ton of healers on other servers ( ply..priest..shamy ) in the 70 range..so i can do instances. Or can 5 Dks do most instances without a healer up to 80?

I run 3 DKs.
I leveled them through dungeons, just PuG'd a healer and another dps.
I ran with one blood and the other two frost. Honestly blood is about the same for a while, but then Frost definitely takes over once you get to around 70. I can only give you honest advice til mid 70s(im sitting at 78), but Frostx3 and Bloodx1 is the way to go.
I'm using the macros that are posted by Toned here. (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=32456)
Blood DK Tank - With Diseases
/castsequence reset=combat icy touch, plague strike, pestilence, blood boil, death strike, icy touch, plague strike, blood boil, heart strike, plague strike, blood boil, icy touch, heart strike
/cast rune strikeThis is what im currently using my DK isn't 80 yet (lvl 76) so I don't focus on death strike as much as it causes rune locks.
After a couple hours of dps testing here is what I've come up with :
Frost DK Dps - 2 button alternating (See Mercucio's Thread)
Button1:
/castsequence reset=combat plague strike, blood strike, howling blast, obliterate, howling blast, howling blast
/use 13
/use 14
button2:
/castsequence reset=combat horn of winter, frost strike, frost strike, frost strike, frost strike, frost strike
/cast blood tap
If you want to make a single target blood macro, just change Pestilence/Blood Boil to Heart Strike. For Frost, just change all the Howling Blast to Icy Touch until you get it. Also get rid of blood tap until you get that as well.
These macros worked GREAT for me <3 Toned

should pillar of frost be in the spam macro? it seems like a short cooldown. I'm sure in PvP you want it saved for burst? but pve use it on cooldown right?

pve kinda doesn't matter. pvp save it for burst (HB spam is not burst). OB+FS is burst.
after playing all these melees(warriors, pallies, dks, enhance shamans), i have to say, paladins are still above all. at least for me that is. though warriors and dks are more effective in killing for this round, they just don't have that powerhouse do it all feelings for me. Not to mention those 2 classes need support. I just can't get too far with warriors and dks if I play 4dps + 1 healer all by myself.
I am giving warriors some more time while getting back to my paladins again. 4.2 looking better for pallies. if I only play 4 dps and having a healer friend, I'd definitely go mixed melee instead of 4 of 1 class

PvE pillar should be paired with the Raise Dead ghoul, no reason (except for instant sacrafice) that you should bring out the ghoul without it.

Hmm.. have not seen much paly discussion lately. I have 5 holy Cows at around 53 i think. I did love that i could have a classic group of tank..healer and 3 dps with them though.

well by then we should all pretty much have multiple teams to work with, just pick the one that's OP. Melees can't be all bad. Something has to work.

I know this thread has been inactive for a few months but I have a four DK team I geared up through AV weekend and is now my primary team. I have a 5th, a resto shammy I group with them to run dungeons and stuff but will probably level another DK to do BGs.
I have been following this tread http://www.arenajunkies.com/topic/206344-frost-dw-v-frost2huh/ and respec'd all my DKs to a DW frost spec that doesn't use obliterate. I find that the damage potential especially in a big fight is amazing. I have more ranged DPS due to howling blast spam (full mastery reforge), followed by frost strike I can down almost anything. Also, by the time I kill my first target, any other targets in the cone have also taken a lot of damage.
The rotation, if that's what you want to call it is pretty simple. Howling blast followed by frost strike, death grip if required and necrotic strike if they are receiving any type of heals. I am also orc and have my racial macroed with my pet for increased damage output. I could write more about my actual setup but I really wanted to see what other DK boxers think about this spec.
I did arenas for the first time last night (3v3), and I actually went 6 and 1 for my first few matches using a zerg strat. My goal was to hit them before they could figure out what was happening and kill their healer. Once my MMR reached 1500 the zerg strat no longer worked out so well. I ended the night at 8 and 6, which I think is very good for my first time in the arena.
I found that holy pallies aren't fun due to their bubble. And priests can go one of two ways, they either die right away because I chain silence them or they simply do not hit their defensive CDs if not silenced. Or they do get their CDs off and live through the initial barrage. I'm trying to work into my initial attack the use of hungering cold since I have it on round robin, which I will then stop using howling blast and go to icy touch so I don't break CC. Iv'e yet to test it out, but I'm certain it will help.
Questions for other DK boxers:
1. Should I look at doing 5v5 by picking up a healer? If so what kind of healer should I look for?
2. Do I stand a change in 3v3 with this setup and strat or should I revise>
Thanks!

most would recommend grabbing ahealer for the 5th.
