I don't know what the hell is going on with random heroic but all it keeps giving me is lost city. Out of 16 ques I have received lost city 12 times. At this point I have decided to say screw it and try the stupid heroic. Has anyone been able to clear this shit hole instance yet with a 5 box team? Any help would be appreciated.

The count is rising. I have no idea why it's locked on Lost City.

I've done with x4 Blood DKs with Paladin Healer (another person). All toons were in PvP gear.

The first part is probably the hardest - just keep moving him in wide circle around the pillars to prevent a large buildup of the mines he throws.

If you can avoid the bulk of the AoE damage, it isn't too bad.

The rest of the bosses I had no problems face rolling.

I tried it but couldn't kill the first boss. My team kept getting thrown everywhere and blown up. I killed two bosses in there but I think the first boss is a lost cause. That fight is retarded.

Are you kiting the first boss around or just standing still? You have to avoid the mines at all costs - so keep moving at all times. This will evenly spread them out and allow you to heal it better.

My tank is not getting hit its the dps and healer. The cock sucker keeps throwing them all over the map.

Pinot, I did this last week with my pally and four DKs. The strategy is definitely to move around A LOT. I'm moving 80% of the time, DPSing 20% of the time. When in the battle, if you aren't moving, chances are you'll be dead soon. If there are any mines anywhere near any of your toons, you need to be moving away as fast as possible.

Occasionally he will throw one up to the top of one of the two pillars and they'll take falling damage as they drop down from it. You'll have to motor by them while spamming follow to pick them back up. With all the movement required, it really sucked healing it with only a Pally who has to stand still to do all of his main heals (Holy Shock and an occasional Word of Glory don't cut it). It sure was a challenge.

I think doing it on a non-melee team would be tougher because they'll have to be facing the boss to do damage.

You might just try to stay alive one time just to learn how the movement has to be - don't even try to do damage, just run around and see how long you can survive. Once you've got that down, try to DPS just a bit and slowly whittle him down.

Anyway, quite hectic and a lot of fun... if you can outlast him and finally get him down.

I can fully understand your frustration. I have been getting Lost City, GB, ToT, DM and SC only for past 5 weeks, queue and re-queue few times each day. The system just refuses to throw me into VP, BRC, HoH and SFK, not even a single run. The random heroic becomes so boring. GM's reply - Random is Random, alternatively select the specific one and forgo the valor points!!! Ridiculous Random Queue algorithm.

For this fight, I spread out the team as wide as possible, and focus on healer survival. The tank and healer can kill the boss, though is gonna take a longer time. So heavy dps at start to hurt the boss as much as possible. Usually I survived with 1 dps, healer and tank standing.

There is another post/video here that illustrates 5 melees fighting this boss. The team moved less, and emphasizes on dps to kill the boss fast.

The sad thing is that random is FAR from random in this case. Blizzard has said that they reduce the odds of you getting a heroic that you have cleared, so you tend to get ones that you haven't. For regular players, this means they get variety because in PuGs at this point, they are all clearable. For boxers who are soloing heroics and have trouble getting through certain mechanics in certain dungeons, this means the system ensures that we get the heroics that are our least favorite, and those that we enjoy (because we can actually finish them) rarely pop up.

Kind of funny that the developers have implemented a system for paying customers that does its best to give us the content we want least and minimize our ability to play the instances we want to.

BTW, if you have any doubt about the fact that random isn't random, here's some facts and data: About a year ago I found this troubling trend with WotLK heroics. I have eight teams that can do heroics, so I have eight chances every 15 minutes to see what the "random" heroic finder gives me. I was trying to get Occulus randomly for the blue drake mounts and recorded statistics for which heroic it gave each team. After 209 attempts, I got Occulus only four times. This was by far the least I got any heroic and I got six of the heroics over 17 times in that 209 attempts. With that big a sample size and the one heroic I wanted (out of the 16 possible) showing up only four times proved to me that the system is significantly skewed.

Their LFD isn't random at all, search the general WoW forums on this site for at least 1 thread about it. You get instances you didnt clear yet 95% of the time. Since they removed the discovery part, it aint fun anymore to queue for heroics, as long as you didnt clear all.

Yeah, I noticed the non-randomness in wotlk as well. Up until I cleared certain dungeons they gave those to me "randomly" something like 80% of the time and I don't think it's just on heroics. (I used to get Oculus a LOT, until I took the time to learn the strategy for the last boss)

About General Husam though, this is actually the first boss I farmed the hell out of on non-heroic (weapon upgrade ftw, even though it's agility), and as far as I can tell the fight is basically the same on heroic. Like nearly every other wotlk and cata boss, all you really have to do is survive long enough for him to die before you. It's not so much "Stand there and spam the button" as much as it is "I have to keep moving because of all this bullshit that he puts on the ground". That and he throws a random person toward the pillar.

So really, it's about taking as little damage as possible so that the healer will be able to keep everyone up from whatever damage they will be taking. Once you've got that down you also have to do some damage to the boss at some point. Like the times where you don't have to run away, or with instant casts while you move. My first Krick fight in wotlk took 7+ minutes. It got better. ;)

So... move away from the ground orb things when he drops them, make sure they are not between you and the pillar because you'll need lots of autofollow, keep a distance from them in case they explode, and during shockwave step out of it. It's not that bad, I get him to 33% and I've only actually killed one heroic boss :o
