I will probably be ordering from Digital Storm..BUT is anyone aware of a PC Builder based on the east coast? Seems like all the big ones ( DS..Ibuypower..Cyberpower..etc.. ) are all in Cali.. meaning expensive shipping. Would love to find a local builder thats big enough to offer deals on the east coast. When i google it i come up with tons of small companies.

Take the time and learn how to put one together yourself. It really isn't that hard to do, and the benefits of knowing these kind of things are well worth it, especially considering the amount of time we spend using computers.

They're a lot easier to put together now than say, 7 years ago when you had to cut holes and shit.

Intrex computers. I swear by them. North Carolina based franchise.
I build my own pcs... always. But when I dont want to build my neighbors, or a friends, family members, or just some friend of a friend... I take it to Intrex, have them do the work, and just hand over the bill. USUALLY the next time someone not so close to me, wants another upgrade, they just go directly to Intrex. But I do have a couple people that still come deliver a system to my house, which I load up in the car, and drive to Intrex. (I dont even turn it on)

These guys are e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e. A quick price comparison to Newegg and I'm able to build a machine with
better components and I'm coming in about $400 cheaper than their build (including tax and shipping.) At a
quick glance it seems they only offer a 30 day warranty (http://www.intrex.com/warranty.htm) before you have to deal directly with the manufacturer?
Yes, as compared to simply buying parts from newegg, or tiger, or tomshardware, and just doing the work yourself, absolutely.
I didnt mean to imply they were cheap. I meant to say they are good. thurough, and I trust the work. Ive used them for 5 yrs, and never had to take anything back let alone use the 30 day warranty. I have definitely had to ship broken, defective and shotty stuff back to tiger, and newegg

If you prefer to buy the system than assemble the system, definitely check out the smaller vendors in your area.
In the Richmond (Vancouver, BC) area, the small stores offer way better pricing than the larger chains.
Maybe it is because of less overhead or less greed, not sure.
The guy my roommate deals with (will sell parts or an assembled system), will match the price on any other local store.

Definitely google Tomshardware for a guide. Newegg.com has great service and return policy.
They're a lot easier to put together now than say, 7 years ago when you had to cut holes and shit. Are you talking about modding your rig?

Thx for the tips guys. i was pricing stuff on newegg and found a lot of the same items were cheaper at micro Center in Fairfax Va ( about a 20 minute drive from me) Ill be buying on Tuesday..so ill check pricing again. The only reason im thinking about a builder.. is they warranty the work and parts. Also with some of the sales they have been having.. i could not find the parts for much less than what they can build and warranty it for. i think i can save 150 if i do it myself ( for the parts i looked up anyway )

Yeah, I really like the warranty from the store I've used in the past.
They call it IPR (instant product replacement).
Sure it is insurance, which means you're paying for what you're getting -- and most people won't need it... but it's very nice to have if you do need it.
Their plan is basically a part goes or whatever.
You get a brand new same piece, or if they don't have the same item then a superior piece in the same line.
Conversely, the insurance is a few percent of the price of whatever... and putting a system together yourself is always cheaper than having a company do it for you.
