I had done some research on which video card is right for a person like me trying to 3-box Rift.

I have now an idea on which might be best basicly the HD5830 At tigerdirect.com for 110$ -125$USD Powerful card with 1GB of DDR5 Memory clock of 800.

They say nvida is better then ati becuase ATI is old & now im looking at the GTX 550 TI Superclocked for 134.99*
what i dont understand is why the GTX 550 More when the HD5830 is cheaper & better perfomance wise ill have to go with the GTX 550 TI for being overclocked and having 1080p HD support what do you guys think i should go for at a price range of 135$

I don't even see the 5830 listed, but i guess its a bit worse then the 5850. Then it looks strong ya.

I think the difference in quality between nvidia and ati is a lot less then it used to be. Although every card I have is nvidia I would not hesitate to get a ati at this point.

I see the HD 5770 listed, Im sure it cloud work wonders when 5 boxing wow on my single machine with my old HD5750 i cloud even run fraps without lag during a pvp event how awesome is that i had it about a year back this card has a price range of 100$-120$ & the HD5770 goes from 110$ up to 150$ now the GTX550 has a core clock of 900MHz leaving the HD5770 875MHz im sure this cloud easily be slightly overclocked if you know your doings.

Now the HD5750 is a good card i had it anyone cloud take my word on that as i told you before it runs smooth im not sure why mine died i dont really care anymore cause there isn't anything i cloud do not even send it someplace oh well just going get me a new one atleast a better one.

I figured im going go with the GTX550 TI for the fact that its faster then the HD5770 and i need a fast card that delivers.

HD5770:144.99
Core Clock: 875MHz

GTX550:141.99
Core Clock:951MHz

Best Choice: GTX550 Cheaper & Faster.

Core clock is largely irrelevant unless you're talking about 30% differences and all the other hardware is the same (shaders, bus width, memory clock, etc.).

Looking at those two cards:
Memory bus width: GTX550 = 192bit; 5770 = 128bit
Memory clock speed: GTX550 = 4.3GHz; 5770 = 4.8GHz

Looking at the charts, I'm seeing the 550Ti about 10% FPS higher than the 5770 averaged across all games. I couldn't find any specific reviews around Rift performance, though either of those should be good to go. Just set your two alts to low-quality renderer, set the background CPU options and the main should run fine at higher settings.
