After some long thought, I finally came back to Wow with the expansion and did 5 boxing yet again.. was really inspired by this forum and now, joined back to the mbox community !

Hit 70 recently, and went to try Utgarde Keep: Utgarde Keep.. All I can say, it is so different from pre-TLK !! though I ran it like 5 times.. never did i success once, with no toons killed. sometimes even 3 to 4 wipes.. probably my gear's not good enough...

well.. here's my team. prot warrior + 2 lit shaman + 1 resto shaman + 1 fire mage.

well.. i still managed to get thru the instance.. but for NEXUS... even the mage boss i cant kill it !! 1 mage boss + 4 mobs... i wiped until i dont want to try anymore..

anyone has strategy for the nexus? the mage basically had a skill, where it toss all my toons around... messed up my whole formation...

That one is easy: if you got a proper setup IWT just copy that to another key and add "S" (or whatever is step back for you) on release. So if you press that your toons will turn to your target and start moving towards it. If you release they will stop.

Use interact with target and click to move (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showpost.php?p=297101&postcount=2) to make all your toons face the boss after they get tossed around. To keep them out of melee range, simply press a movement key to stop them running to the mob.

OR

Use your follow key to gather up your slaves and have them face the right way and then break follow. Note, interact with target has a MUCH farther useable range than follow.

OR

Use a Focusing Lens macro (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showpost.php?p=268047&postcount=8). I don't know the range on the focusing lens, so that may mean all your slaves end up facing the right way, but are too far away to cast on.

I found all WotLK dungeons to be fairly easy once I knew what to do. Whereas cata was/is difficult even tho I multiboxed almost every WotLK instance and had some experience.

Most bosses in WotLK are tank and spank, they might have some mechanic that requires you to move out of some special ability(the spinning axe thing with last boss in Utgarde) or avoid AoE(last boss in one of the bird instances). Granted I sorta outgeared instance fast as I have one of every profession and played the AH well, so I had all blues with proper enchants/gems almost before I set foot in a level appropriate instance.

I personally just park my casters a bit back and just attack with my tank. Then I keep an eye out for any AoE ability and strafe my slaves out of the problem.

For the mage I think I just quickly hit the follow key and then move back on my slaves if it messes up facing, which I am not sure it does(but I might be wrong).

Grated still and then I end up a boss fight with some dead slaves, but not a complete wipe. :)

hum, the group of 4 mobs can be pulled separately from the boss. you shouldn't have to fight them together. Just make sure you're round the corner when you pull the group, and they will run to you.

As for the disorient you get during the mage boss fight, well someone said already. The easiest is to set your "Interact With Target" key.
Press your IWT key, your toons will start running towards the boss. Then prass the back key slightly and they will all stop, facing the boss, ready to pewpew

Good luck

Unless you're talking about when she splits into 4 (or is it 3? Been a while...). That indeed can be a rough evolution for undergeared players.

I believe she splits in 3, so in total that's 3 mobs (not 1 boss + 4).
However the trash group before her, in her 'room', is made of 4 mobs, and that would indeed hurt a lot if they were pulled with the boss.

Then again i haven't been there since Cata, so it could have changed.

wow.. thanks for all the replies ! tried again and basically, tho i wipe once or twice.. i managed to finish off the mage.. realize i was too close to the group of 4 mobs.. n aggro-ed the boss.. now tat i pulled back.. its ok.. fighting the boss is stil ok.. only when she toss my toons around..

when she splits, i'll target the arcane first as she wil sheep my tank.. :( then the frost then the fire.. was pretty easy tho..

until the final boss.. wipe 4 times to realize the easy way to fight her.. was to heal my tank, jump, dps + heal tank, jump and keep repeating.. haha.. initially didnt know bout the dot she'll cast and after awhile.. i'm dead.. after finding the trick in jumping to break the dot, basically its so easy..

thanks guys ! makes me more sucked into mboxing now.. esp with the guild thing coming ;)

btw, anyone has any links for pre-heroic gears? (for TBC heroic).. all i could find is end game pre heroic......

I'd suggest checking the comments for bosses on Wowhead.com and here in the encounters (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27) forums before engaging bosses. The tactics people discuss will save you a lot of frustration and wiping.
