Hey all! I am trying to create a macro in ISBoxer using the Macro Generator and it just does not seem to want to work for me. Here's what I'm doing:
-I go to Key Maps, General, and create a new key map. I'm making the key Alt+Shift+F1.
-Under actions, I do "New World of Warcraft Macro Action"
-I have the target as Window:All w/Current
-Key combo is Alt+Shift+F1
-I dont check any boxes.
-Then under the commands part, I have:
!if (character in "paladins") /target prothan
!if (character in "paladins") /cast holy light
I have an Action Target Group called "paladins" that my Paladin Healer is in.
I have reloaded my UI on everyone, even logged out and back in again with everyone, and I still get no response when I hit the keymap. Any clue what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
create a new key map.
First, if you are making a new Key Map as opposed to a new Mapped Key, you will need to add your Character Set(s) to that Key Map.
Other than that, some things to check:
you have exported from ISBoxer
Key Maps are ON (but they should be by default)
ISBoxer addon is enabled in WoW for all characters
No key bindings are conflicting in WoW on that character (to make sure they aren't, and this is the only way to be 100% certain - find something unused, bind it to Alt+Shift+F1, then clear the keybind)
If none of those work, you could link your ISBoxer profile. Instructions here: http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13. Use the privatepaste option.
I use a mouseover macro for my healadin, and grid with a repeater region over it. Wow keybind interface> map that key to "F1"... done. Now I can just move the mouse a little, press F1, and go back to dpsing or tanking.
And the heal isnt client toon specific. I can heal whoever I choose.
First of all, don't use the original "WoW Macro Action" as this will make it harder for you to manage, and understand the management of, the WoW macros in ISBoxer. It's still available for backwards compatibility and because some people are used to it, but anything new should probably use the new system instead (this will become more obvious with future ISBoxer updates...)
Instead use the WoW macro library (http://isboxer.com/wiki/World_of_Warcraft_Macro_Library), which is under Game Helpers, along with a Named World of Warcraft Macro Action. This will give you better control over who has what macros, and the interface should be easier to use/follow since it's not all crammed together like the WoW Macro Action. For a more specific example that directly relates to this thread, the Preview tab in the WoW macro library is easily understood and operated, whereas the "Final macro text" at the bottom of a WoW Macro Action confuses the shit out of people. (It's the same thing).
In other words, by using the WoW Macro Library you should have an easier time making sure the macro is available on a particular character, and that it has the right commands in it. See if switching helps.
(also, try another hotkey. combinations of F11 and F12 are used by some ISBoxer macros under Quick Setup 38, you can see them all there)

Got it. Yeah, it was the character set. Its funny, all of my character sets but the ONE I WAS USING, were already in the key bind section. Odd. Anyway, thank you so much for the help. This is HUGE for me!
