Hi everyone,
I've been out of WoW for about 5 months. I cleared all the instances on normal, but quickly burned out on trying to run heroics.
I was wondering what the progress was on the Cata Heroics? I've been browsing the forums, but I was wondering if anyone who regularly ran heroics could give a breakdown on what heroics have been cleared and which have not (full clears or partial clears).
Also, I'm curious if a pally and 4 shaman is still the way to go? I had played around with adding a druid and adding a mage, but I was wondering if the 4 shaman approach still worked.
Any advice would be nice. I had the itch to multibox again.

Come back! You know you want to!
Have not touched Heroics since I came back, but I'll be trying again soon.

Though I will say that Normals seem to have gotten easier. Maybe its just because I havent done them in many months, but they seem so much easier (especially Stonecore) than the first times I ran them last year.

You'll have to let me know how things go. I'm a little underwhelmed by the community response. I guess people aren't boxing heroics anymore.

My entire focus this expansion has been PvP.
I'm still doing the gold alchemy thing.
In previous expansions (both BC and WotLK) PvE was a priority.
Aside from normal versions of Deadmines and Scarlet Monastery, I've not been in an instance during Cataclysm.
Lots of BG's and some arena in that time.
I've been multiboxing cata heroics for a while now. My team at start was blood dk + 4 ret palas, but after 4.1 and the Word of Glory (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=85673) nerf (it got a 20 sec CD) I felt that I could run heroics lot fast and lot smoother with a random healer from the LFG tool, so I switched to 1 protection and 3 retribution paladins.
Up till 4.1 I've completed all heroics except Deadmines and Grim Batol with the blood 4 ret team.
After 4.1 I've completed everything including Deadmines, Grim Batol, Zula'Aman and Zul'Gurub.
I'm aiming to complete the instances fast and get the chaos orb (http://www.wowhead.com/item=52078) so I can gear my druid team with craftables therefore I'm skipping every boss that you can possibly skip.
Even though most of the runs are pretty smooth, I'm still staying away from Deadmines and Grim Batol if the random healer is not a shaman or is very badly geared.
Same goes for Zul'Gurub. Some of the bosses in the instance are pretty hard on my team as it is, so if I get a non shaman healer or the healer is badly geared I tend to rather just wait 15 min and queue again hoping for Zul'Aman which I can complete without any wipes quite fast.
If you are considering a setup similar to mine, I can write up a list for you as recommendation of progression order for the cataclysm heroic dungeons.
note: shaman healers fit with my team by far the best hence why I keep mentioning them, in case you want to try 5 boxing instead of 4 boxing :P

Maat, might I ask what macros you are using for your Ret Paladins? And do you still use them as healers for your DK, or do you just let the PUG healer take care of it?

Just to clarify it: I ditched the DK tank, and made one of the paladins go tank I find it lot easier to tank with a paladin, aoe tanking is ridiculously easy with paladins.
To answer your question: I only use the round robin lay on hands nowadays for those ohh shit situations, or when I see the healers is struggling.
For the retribution macros and setup I'm planning to make a lengthier post to describe my setup because I think its pretty unorthodox. (you are not the first to ask about it :P )

Looking forward to it! I've got 5x Paladins between 80 and 85 and was thinking about trying something with them.

thanks for the reply Maat. I don't have a melee team, but it's good to hear that heroics are doable.

Its seems melee teams are more successful in Heroics right now (not counting Team Beeq). I saw another video of a mixed Melee group doing Blackrock Caverns, I think, and it seems to go flawlessly.
ive been running with my same old grp pally priest 3 ele shammies as usual
