So I had a great idea for a way to level a team through some of the rough times..

And then I realized its not possible, or atleast nowhere near easily possible

My idea was to level Mining on my toons since nodes give experience and being in a lvl 25 guild I would make some nice profit off it.

Then I realized that even if you click the node at the same time only one person gets the loot and the experience.

Is this possible at all or is there something similar?

Once ago, I had a warlock circling Nagrand for Khorium nodes. When I found one, Id loot it.

Then I got an idea to not auto loot it, and leave the motes of earth in there... only looting the Khorium ore, and leaving the node intact. 5 mins later, Id circle and see it still there, Attempting a loot... finding only motes of earth...

I logged another character, another account, went to the node, attempting a loot... finding only motes of earth.

Moral of the story is.. once a node is tapped... its done.

I think aslong as you dont loot anything on the node they will get exp.

They might have fixed this but it worked a couple months ago.

but you looted the Ore, techincally the node is no longer intact am i right?

I think that only one person gets the experience, but everyone can tap it to get a skill up. I have 2 of my chars mining, so I am pretty sure that is how it works. I put miniing on my main to track nodes and for the stam buff and then mining on one of my alts to hold the ore. Same with herbing, on main to track it, but on an alt so he can hold the herbs. Yeah alts can hold stuff without having the skill, but it makes it easier for them to pick it up and have them hold it.

I have 2 gatherers on my team and they get alot of exp from nodes/herbs. I have to drop them out of group every once in awhile and grind some mobs because they are getting a couple levels ahead just from gathering.

So you can't really exploit this.

a) Quest
b) PvP
c) Dungeons
d) Tag Boost or some other Boosting method.
e) Mindlessly grind on mobs
