View Full Version : PVE Macro, Sheep 3 Diff Targets with 3 mages
Hi, was checking but coudnt find any macro like this.
What i whant is, lets say my raid leader in a 25 man raid puts up "skull" "X" and "Diamond" on 3 diff targets, is there a way that i can macro to target lets say "skull" and cast sheep in one macro?
The ide with this would be to like press "1" and all my mages automaticly take their "mark" and sheep it, without me having to single target all.

No can do, the "target" functions are protected (cannot be called by user macros or addons).
About the best I've been able to figure out for this so far is assisting my main and setting focus or something, but it's clunky and is not a "press one key" solution, sadly.

Hey there.... I am running 3x mages too and this is a function I've been battling with as well.
How about some of these ideas:
Is there a way to setup a macro that has mage 1 target main target, and mage 2 target main target, then tab to the 2nd nearest target, and mage 3 do the same execpt to the 3rd nearest target?
Granted... this would not be the best way to do this, but I often find taking on a boss with 2 assistants a pain in the azz to crowd control and if I had a way to successfully do this, I would gain the upper hand in the beginning of the battle. Especially if I can set up one macro button to do the targeting, then hit the Polymorph button on another button.
Did I confuse many? roflmao

Here is how I do it with my warlocks...
I use a round robin key to assist my main. For each warlock I target the mob to be seduced or feared, then hit the assist key. Then I select the next target, hit assist key again. Now both warlocks have selected a different target.
All of my casts other than seduce and fear use [target=focus], focus being my main. So they never un-target their assist target. I can then hit fear and both cast fear on their own target.

i'm not great with macros.. but i don't think you could set it up to happen at the same time.. but you could swap targets and use the round robin systems.

I'm not familiar with the round robin system? That applies to targeting?
I use keyclone and I'm getting a KVM switch tomorrow I think. Till now I've been using two Logitech G15 keyboards.
So it is possible to setup a macro key that does multiple targeting and then use a different key for the actual Polymorph? It sounds possible?

You'll want to use focus for this kind of thing, emo. We've tried several different ways of targeting different mobs on here lately and none of them have yielded anything that was feasible. For PVE, it's a choice between doing target presets (via focus or otherwise). For PVP, it's a fairly lost cause because to sheep three targets, you'd have to cycle through them on your main and hit an assist/focus key to target them independently, which incurs at least a 1-second penalty for the client/server retarget notifications to propagate, which leaves you with three seconds just doing target/assist stuff, plus human delays, plus normal latency. Just not worth the trouble. IMO, of course. :D
