Hey guys,

I find myself with several spare 'Training' accounts due to it being cheaper to buy a new boxed game and refer it rather than subscribe. So I have several toons that need transferring to my main accounts but I had a few questions first:

Do I need to be in an NPC corp if i'm transferring to my own accounts?
Does the account need to be active or can I transfer once the paid time has been used up?

It forces you to go into NPC corp for the transfer no matter what name is on either account.

Not sure about the active account part since i only ever moved from an active account.
If I were you i'd do it with a day or 2 to spare.
If the account is already inactive i think you can submit a pettition to get them to activate it for a short period so you can do what you need to do.

I've done this quite a lot so here's the process:

First, your toon has to be in an NPC corp - and it takes 24 hours minimum to leave your vorp so make sure you quite well in advance of transfer time.

Second, the account has to be active, so if your time is drawing to a close make sure you have enough room to do this. I usually transfer the evening before as I've tended to start accounts in the morning.

Third, your training must be paused on the toon to be transferred.

Fourth, you can't be logged in to the account via the EVE client when you attempt a transfer.

Now your toon is ready to be transferred. Transfer process:

First, login on the account management page go to the transfer page (I think it's under account services) and select the toon.

Second, _very carefully_ type the name of the account to transfer to, there's no confirmation of this so make sure you get it right, especially if you have a lot of accounts with similar names.

Third, click on the payment method button below (yes they're buttons, took me quite a while to figure that out) and make payment.

Transfer is done. You will receive an email confirming the transfer:




Another player is transferring the character WorthlessSlave to your account named YetAnotherAccount12.



We are currently processing this transfer. The character you are transferring will remain on the sender account, but will not be playable until the transfer automatically completes.


If you are not the intended recipient of this character or are not expecting to receive a character, please file a <a href="https://support.eveonline.com/Pages/Petitions/CreatePetition.aspx (https://support.eveonline.com/Pages/Petitions/CreatePetition.aspx)">petition</a> to Customer Support.


Several hours later your toon will be transferred.

Lastly make sure you've cancelled any subscription method on the old account - if you can't find a 'cancel subscription' option it may be that you're paying via PayPal like me.

Sometimes things go wrong and the transfer system doesn't work when you want it to: HTFU.

With the new 'open your account for four hours to buy a plex' option you could probably whisk in and do a transfer on a closed account - I haven't tried this so it's at your own risk.
